I ordered the exclusive clementine coloured vinyl of St Vincent's All Born Screaming from the official UK store and it took until today to show up - and I'd put off listening until it arrived so I'm only now experiencing it for the first time. It really is classic St Vincent - a couple of highlights for me are the James Bond theme Violent Times and those drums on Flea, plus the outro on the title track.

LCD is coming up in a couple weeks. Anyone else going? 4 nights in Chicago, I'm hoping for some deep cuts but I have no idea what they'll be playing. Every show I've seen has been banging, but they are playing a super lovely venue.

I'm a peculiar Killers fan. Some might content I'm not a real fan at all. There isnt an album of theirs where I don't have several skips in muscle memory. I find Mr Brightside mid. And... I don't even find Brandon Flowers cute. It's just that some songs go beyond being bangers and into next level -ish for me. Oh man, I'm like one of those Beatles fans who think Her Majesty is their best song and that John Lennon was massively overrated. (Which makes sense because I am that Beatles fan.)

I mentioned DCfC before and only recently learned that they have an album from the past couple of years called Asphalt Meadows. I'd given up on the band but was told the reviews are actually very favourable and it's maybe their best in near 20 years. Listened, and it sounds like the most talented, oldest Millenial dads in your town made a garage band they put a lot of efforts into. That's actually meant as a compliment... somehow. It is. Gibbard isn't a dad but he sounds like one.

Asphalt Meadows rules. Sounds great live, too.

The new Jessica Pratt LP (Here in the Pitch) is fantastic. Considering she's been firmly in the private press/tragic folkie vein the last few albums, the added instrumentation with the bossa nova style is a fresh wrinkle that suits her style well. "Empires Never Know" is the highpoint one listen in, but the whole program seems to coalesce nicely. The most negative thing I can say about it is it's holding me back from listening to the new Broadcast demos collection (Spell Blanket), which *also* came out today. Wait, the Lemon Twigs have a new one out, too? And Camera Obscura? Sigh....

I learned about Home Counties this morning. A young band from the UK. Their new album came out yesterday, I'm really enjoying it. You'll probably enjoy it if you like the poppier side of Yard Act, or were into indie-dance circa 2007. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KOmykcBX4IU https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kR4GaGI4OYw https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cvRyWNpzAN8

Chappel Roan worth seeing live? Missed her when she came by, and mildly considering going to governor's ball as it's relatively close by, but I'd have to take a couple days off work.,And While I like Sza, too not much else on that day's line up I'm interested in. If she was playing the day before with CRJ it'd be a no brainer, but alas she is not

Supporting Pip Blom at Sneaky Petes in Edinburgh. They've really changed their sound, and I guess why the name change. Good stuff

Dear Alan is a pretty rich tribute to Braxe. Afterimage is gorgeous, it'd be the best song on Kavinsky's Reborn. i even like Neverender more than Impala's other feature. sort of dig how Mannequin Love is a continuation of some of Incognito's synths, guess that's why the track ends in the title read before officially transitioning. but yea overall excellent 7 track EP and shame about the rest, looking forward to seeing them live
