It's such a bizarre way of presenting that information. He's the setting's creator, so if he said Greg was the dad then that was it. Why does he think people want proof about it, in the form of a porn comic, no less? Like, it'd be understandable if he drew them as a happy family or something, but he acts so proud of drawing them conceiving Dookie. And that's not getting into the whole problematic angle of how Greg can't just be Dookie's adoptive dad, she has to actually be genetically linked to the Deegans for her to count as one.

Also feel it should play more into the concept of having a dad who is centuries dead by the time you become an adult. But I suppose Frieren airing at the same time as that story would have made the parallels a bit too obvious, in a damning way.

So if spirits can just choose to stay around because they want to help, then who's to say that wasn't the abusive ghost dad's intention for haunting rock lady? Feels like there's a lot of nebulous area you can explore where a spirit's idea of helping doesn't match what their relative needs, or a spirit's idea of help being completely out of touch after a century has passed and social mores evolved. It's so frustrating how Mookie keeps introducing a crumb of something potentially interesting and then dropping it immediately because he's allergic to any sort of planning or longform storytelling.
