I dont know if it's the case for the episode last week, but this week Tisse is now standing with Ruti in the opening when she's staring at the moon

A neat detail I noticed is that Asura Demons don't have a detectable Blessing. Ruti's new nameless Blessing (I'll spoil its name from the LN: it's called [Shin]) has no effects, other than helping suppress her Hero's Blessing. They previously said that Axe Demon hearts are not necessary to make the drug and in fact humans will be OP if they learn they can use an uncursed version to control the Blessings they get. I'm guessing Asura Demons have Shin as their Blessing, and I'm guessing they really don't want humans getting it as well, which is why Shisandan decided to help Ares re-Hero-fy Ruti. This is just speculation I have no idea how accurate this is.

In the LN does anyone comment on this being a high tech bunker? Or do they just treat this as mysterious elven architecture? They didn't seem to be terribly surprised by it in the anime and had no issues using the automatic doors and such.

Elder Scrolls does something similar. Where dwarves or someshit made super advanced golem and teleporters and then yeeted themselves off the dimensional plane so everyone is like "wow ancient artifacts!" And yeah, I thought the whole Nameless Blessing thing was just something like oh no the system is perverted people ending up demonic or some metaarc that ties into the world mythology somehow down the line. I.e. the Hero is a mass murderer against "demons" who try and overthrow the Blessing system but were original test subjects who rebelled.

Minor LN spoilers (books 3/4), details of stuff/scenes omitted in the show I think it was all described as "ancient elves" stuff. In the show they omit the parts where Ruti clears out the ruins from its monsters, which are described as clockwork. I was a bit surprised to see how advanced everything looked in the show. kalam fucked around with this message at 00:21 on Dec 22, 2021 |

Can someone explain what shisandan's motivation for doing...anything... is? It seems like he should be ok with the ruti not being the hero, especially since hes a demon and all.

Well the contract demon showed us that demons can have personal goals that don't align to or can even be opposite of those of the demon lord, so him being a demon doesn't necessarily mean he wants the hero dead. My guess is that there is some sort of detail about blessings and the hero in particular that we are missing. Something along the lines of "The hero" being a necessary existence to the natural order of things, or that the Demon Lord (which I'm assuming is also a blessing) and the hero are opposed but also dependent on each other. Another possibility is that there is some demon lord/hero historical cycle that Shisandan believes must be maintained for reasons. My wild guess why is that Asura demons actually do have a blessing, but it doesn't impart abilities. Only impulses to maintain the hero/demon lord status quo.

Based on a conversation that was cut short in the anime, it seems like the "demons" are working with "God" and were put in charge of ensuring people abide by "God's blessing". https://mangadex.org/chapter/696f2ed9-9d9b-4f10-b30c-1599ef2d9e68/21 From my reading of this, the contract demon was working to undo this because he/she was going against the "will of god". Shisandan was keeping to the "will of god" and why he was trying to get the hero to go back to abiding by her blessing.

Unfortunately everything about Shisandan will come up much later after this. Suffice to say there is a Demon King faction and the traditionalist Demon Faction. The latter are against the former. Shisandan is a traditionalist and wants Ruti to fulfill her purpose and put an end to the Demon King since he was never supposed to gently caress with the Blessing system they have in place (which they did with the Axe Demon Drugs).

Some TikToker girls voiced goblins in an episode and are over the moon about the start of their VA careers and it's kind of cute seeing such unrestrained hope

I clicked this show randomly while browsing Funimation having never heard of it before at all. Very pleasantly surprised. The dub is good, for what it's worth. Red and Rit are now the most adorable couple in anime imo. I also like that there was no cliche "will they, won't they" b.s. dragging out for five seasons. Just straight up season one "we're adults, we're in love, we're buying a big bed and moving in together, deal with it!". I thought the blessing stuff got a little convoluted at times but overall it's a very enjoyable, lightweight show. I hope they get a season 2 and that it follows the season 1 template of mostly being slice of life stuff with the "ancient mystery demon war" plot kept to the periphery. In conclusion I give the show two thumbs are hereby present the "Spider of the Year" award to Mr. Crawly Wawly.

I decided to give this a go and ended up binging 10 episodes over 2 days and I have to say I love this Husband Gal and Wife guy show a lot. It's really nice to have a show where a romance isn't a "Will they won't they" or "Heavily implied but will never ever actually say or write anything about it". Especially in this jrpg rear end setting. Next tales of game's main characters/romance should be already married for 3 years at the start IMO. It's just so nice for a romance to be out and open about their emotions from the start and actively in a relationship where there's push and pull and they're doing their best by one another. I just got to where The sister finds him at the shop and boy they're laying down some actually interesting world building here and there in the margins but I actively don't care. I just want Red and Rit to be happy and Ruti to maybe not be an emotionless murder god. The romance writing is a bit sappy but it still feels...believable in a way? Like i've had those kind of moments with my partner. Genuine surprise of a show.
