a large, winged creature called the Mothman was reportedly seen in the vicinity of Point Pleasant, West Virginia, during 1966 and 1967

was this one of history's biggest lies?
or pure truth??

Mothman was real but completed his earthly mission some time ago and slumbers until he's needed again.

Please don't ask me how I know this

sucks to be right
Mothman = original and best

The UK attempted to run a shoddy knockoff version with their Owlman cryptid almost exactly a decade later:

Goddamn, that's just embarrassing.

Note that notorious monster hoaxer/stage magician Tony 'Doc' Shiels just happened to be the guy who broke the story when he just happened to bump into several alleged witnesses. He also managed to dig up some extremely suss photos of the Loch Ness Monster soon after.

Note also that that town of Point Pleasant WV has really embraced their Mothman legacy and have not only erected a 12' tall statue of Mothman in the centre of town but they also have a Mothman Museum and hold an annual Mothman Festival (which y'all just missed, the '23 festival was just two weeks ago)

The museum and statue even appeared in one of the Fallout games:

Mothman has also been endorsed by President Trump
