Current arc: Beppu is good. Every character in this manga is so good. Previous arcs: The volume releases on Jump seem to have a different localization from Manga Plus, and I didn't notice until this page. MPlus  Jump  This is the page that got me reading this, so I'm kinda disappointed in the change.

Some Manga+ series have different translators than Viz and it shows. Kaiju No. 8 is another one. Viz absolutely has some style guide that makes like 98% of swearing verboten for some loving reason and it drives me insane that nobody seems to acknowledge it. The rest are style differences.

The swearing thing feels like it’s just them being adverse to pushing the line on their series that are ostensibly Teen rated, Dandadan is the same official translation everywhere and it absolutely has no problem with its character swearing like sailors and the only difference is that it’s Mature.

I suspect the Viz release is more accurate to the original text but it does lose a lot of punch. One'd have to see the whole chapter to tell for sure but I get the feeling Naruko's personality changes a bit with the translation.
