Rody One Half posted:Doing catchup: I mean, Mages who are Masters cheat all the god drat time to get an edge in Grail Wars, usually with catastrophic results for everyone involved, especially said Mage, so it makes sense that Casters will also cheat whenever and however they can to get an edge. And boy, do Casters (usually) need that edge, both because Casters are not all that good in a straight up fight (squishy mage syndrome) and because the three 'Knight' classes (Saber, Lancer, Archer) come with some level of Magic Resistance that allow them to no sell smaller spells and fight against heftier ones. Some Servants in particular have Magic Resistance so high they can delay or fight off the effects of a Command Spell if they really put their mind to it. Especially someone like Gilgamesh, who would probably react to a Master trying to force him to do something via Command Spell by going 'lolno' and then rendering said Master's head a fine red mist.

In the "Your Odds of Winning a Holy Grail" Tier List, Gilgamesh is absolutely top of "will probably kill you" tier.

There are worse ones then Gilgamesh. With a good enough explanation and general deference you could survive the experience. There are others who would kill you just on principle.

Yeah, Gil is actually a pretty decent Servant if you're one of the following: -you are dealing with a world-ending crisis that will guaranteed kill everyone on Earth, and you aren't a bitch about facing that poo poo down -you show him unerring deference and respect, but not in a way where you're just kissing his rear end to get something from him -you have some unquantifiable Enkidu-esque quality that makes you not boring That's a fair sight better than some Servants, who will just cut you in half the long way immediately upon being summoned and then lay waste to civilization until their mana runs out.
