I hope that English was not that person's first language, judging by his name, most likely not, because I could barely tell what the hell he was talking about. It was too painful to read past the second letter. However, I did like that he could not accept a birth certificate issued by the state of Hawaii as proof of his birth, but somehow knows that Obama was born in Kenya and an citizen of Indonesia, with no proof of any kind except maybe circumstance?

Though I'm not sure what you're talking about, since it still has universal health care. B.C. has the same health charges that you have pay which are only if you earn enough, same as Alberta. Although maybe it changed recently? I was there only 1 year ago though, and had 100% free healthcare, so I think you're definition of universal might not be the same as mine. They did try to abolish the system though, and Alberta was the only province in Canada to oppose gay marriage. The last Premier of Alberta was also a complete drunk and famous for stumbling into a homeless shelter after a hard night of drinking, yelling at the homeless people to get a job, and throwing money on the floor. Alberta is also home to the some of the world's worst environmental disasters that no one talks about. The capitol city is famous for tasering jaywalkers. I could go on. The author had a systems analyst go back through the paths of a bunch of right-wing FWDs and found a large amount of them lead back to Patriot Depot. quote:A good deal of the "conservative revolution" is produced by Patriot Depot™, a division of Discount Book Distributors, a Georgia corporation founded in 2007 by Brandon Vallorani, an MBA with a graphic design background. Man, I almost want our nation to go to hell in a handbasket. It sounds so loving exciting. Islamic-abortion doctor-female preacher-rape gangs roaming the American wasteland. Small outposts of 'real' Americans, who held onto their guns (I like guns too!) worshiping the Bible, who torture all the Muslims they capture. I could be all Mad Max style cause you know those outposts will be drilling for oil and making fuel like in that one Mad Max movie. Ka-chunk! Ka-chunk!

No, they weren't historians, or hipsters who thought it was funny ironic. I could see them originating and sending this email around. I'm not the smartest guy, but how can you live with such ignorance and hatred, that really was the worst email yet. My grandmother is old fashioned racist like this, and a beautiful thing happened. She was on a flight to Las Vegas, and she was seated next to the nicest black man I've ever met. He was in his 40's, polite, well spoken, had a better job than she or any of her kids ever had, and talked to her the whole flight about the old days. Afterward, I could honestly see my grandmother's attitudes slightly change, just because she lived so isolated from society and had never met a black person that didn't meet her predetermined schema. I think a lot of people who think like this just really haven't met/talked with/given a chance to enough people.

I've been having a heated debate with a friend on Facebook, which I realize already is seven kinds of retarded. What started it off was a link to Bill Moyer's transcript http://www.pbs.org/moyers/journal/09042009/transcript3.html His response: quote:Interesting article. I would say people who oppose government run health care are probably the same people who have opposed it in the past, not racist. More like people who see an ever expanding corrupt, wasteful, government that knows no bounds. Notice the unfunded liabilities medicare, medicaid, social security... At some point we will have to pay for all of this - http://www.usdebtclock.org Mine: quote:Correlation does not imply causation. He's not saying people who oppose it are because they're racist, that's intellectually dishonest of you. It's the same people who already suffer from other cases of forced ignorance such as Obama is not a U.S. citizen, he wants death panels, etc. Why is it the people who have the most are the angriest? There is a permanent angry class in America, that's always protesting against those who also want a chance to get theirs. He finally sent me a private message full of the latest Glenn Beck talking points: quote:Most of the people who attend these townhall meetings are not hillbillies, they are democrats, republicans and independents. Who already pay exceptionally high taxes, I pay almost 40% of my income now, factoring all of my taxes together. I certainly do not make a large income. These people know that every government social program ever created has spiraled out of control, and multiplyed in costs. One of my personal fears is that this system will become the infamous "single payer". Many large corporations are for this bill knowing it will be a good way to undercut the competition, especially if they have to pay higher taxes for it anyway. My employer has already told us if it passes we will have it and we're small. I'd like to get other's reactions to this before I post my own thoughts. These responses are cracking me up. He's 26. We became friends like 9 years ago when he was a cool stoner that liked to hang out, watch movies and play videogames. The funny part is he got a felony conviction for selling drugs. He moved back to Ohio where he came from and became this angry, 'THIS IS ARE COUNTRY' guy.
