I literally have no other clue.

If you mean the one from EoE, no, because her head was much larger than the black egg the NERV pyramid fits into a fraction of. It could be the equivalent from Near-3I, but that does raise the question of what happened to Rei anyway. I'd guess it's symbolic of Near-3I devouring the people around it, especially given how it's tied to your namesake.

I think it was just a cool image. Eva's apocalypses have always been based around some degree of body horror, and Tokyo-3 definitely qualifies as being ground-zero for one.

A cool theory on EvaGeeks was that the planet was in the process of being transmuted into an Evangelion, just like the people were. It's made of the same material. :stare:

But basically yeah it was just a cool and creepy image, just like how theres no logic behind the moon being inside earths atmosphere and spinning around at a few hundred Kms per hour.

Given that this is a Gainax production (kinda) the idea of battling a literal planet doesn't seem too farfetched.

I'd be pretty happy about the apocalypse if it meant I'd be merged into a hive mind that then morphed my entire planet into a giant armor plated beast. As long as goons could seal themselves off behind a wall of Guf so the rest of the consciousness couldn't crap the place up. Imagine how much more efficiently we could analyze TV shows.

Still though, we're all speaking Spanish once we're in there. No arguing that.

Is it wrong I kind of want to see a sort of stereotype of an immigrant hired to be the pilot of an Eva? I mean it is a horrible thought but something about a dude just doing his job for a better life for his family kind of deal and shrugging at the crazy poo poo going on because, what's he going to do, he's just a regular dude.

Asuka: "DOES NONE OF THIS CRAZY poo poo BOTHER YOU?"
Dude: "I do work, get paid, my family eats and sleeps under their roof, it's a good life."
Gendo: "We have found our dummy plug."

The best part about that is that you can see that Shinji made a little memorial thing for Misato. It's a brief shot of her necklace cross thingy on a post. So really who knows how much time passed between Shinji ending 3rd impact and Asuka showing up. I kind of love the end of EoE. Because it's just like... well alright then.

There's also a shot of a couple of grave markers which Shinji presumably made...one of which is snapped as if it were kicked. Probably Asuka's!

Which puts Shinji's actions in epilogue in a interesting light, as it implies he's been on his own for a good while, long enough to assume Asuka wasn't coming back.

Nah, that title'll always be held by This Is Randomness, but that is indeed a drat fine AMV, and definitely one of the best Evangelion ones(or at least, one of the best serious ones). Kind of a shame it doesn't include anything from 3.33, really.

Kind of surprised Funimation hasn't done a roadshow double-or-triple feature of these movies; that is, with a 15-minute intermission between each film. I think that's the best way to watch the first two "Rebuild" movies, and that's the way I've shown it to friends.
That was my favorite "Evangelion" parody video… then I saw this.

After watching EoE again I'm not sure I want Rebuild to end on a super happy Gurren Lagann ending. I really think the movie already ended on a hopeful note. Even though Shinji rejects a bland, perfect world it doesn't mean his ultimate ending will be happy. I thought his dialogue with Rei/Yui highlighted that a world without boundaries/AT fields will always cause pain to people. But still Shinji rejects Instrumentality and chooses to feel happiness and pain on his own terms. What could be more upbeat than that in the Eva universe?

Umm.. While I have a more upbeat opinion on the ending of Gurren Lagann then a lot of people I know, but even I would call it super happy. Bitter sweet and world weary contentedness more like. Which I guess is kind of the mood you want for Rebuild.

I just watched the first 2 Rebuild movies and really enjoyed them! I'm so glad they put a lot of the light hearted stuff in the show and not have it be 100% serious mode all the time. Which leads me to believe that Rebuild 3 has to be even more serious right? I'll probably end up watching it tonight, but so far I'm really enjoying it.
