Maybe the lovely movie they made before the series actually ended so they had to completely make up a character to stand in for someone who hadn't yet been introduced Yeah, that's from X. It's what shows while we get the monologue about the Dragons of Earth vs the Dragons of Heaven.

Not exactly Season 3 then, but still a continuation of some sort. Neo Helbeast posted:Also of note, Why remove it? I can't remember when this scene occurs so I can't check it myself - is there something in this they wanted to retcon, or something about the context that made it unacceptable? GorfZaplen posted:009-1 Is that a new Cyborg 009 anime? I've read some of the manga and used to watch the old (70s? 80s?) show as a kid. Is the new one any good? The old one was pretty messed up. EDIT: Not a gif but I can't mention the old anime without posting the OP. So badass. Shame about the quality. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DE33US8zvIs EDIT2: Apparently there was a 'gritty' reboot where they turned Brittain into agent 47 because he's bald I guess? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vrmbrbQ6c40 Renoistic has a new favorite as of 12:27 on Oct 23, 2014 |

The 2001 Cyborg 009 is quite good, although it's hard to find the entire series in english since only the first half was licensed. It was goofy and still kind of messed up in the same vein as the original, and even if some characters had received a much needed redesign the show stayed true to the original. Not like the RE:Cyborg anime which just looks like someone REALLY wanted to make a GitS movie but only could afford the Cyborg 009 license. Apparently there was a 60s show as well! I definitely want to watch it now - the intro is pretty giffable. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6DPA-9k8tPQ And:
