:page1000sniper: This thread is longer and more entertaining than either of the past two books. But probably just as terrible. Edit: When I hit post, I got a "502 Bad Gateway" error, but the post came through anyway. I thought getting an error for trying to post in the GRRM thread was surprisingly apropos.

Do you think they'll actually do Cersei's story with the Faith faithfully to the book? I have a feeling D&D will decide that punishing her by shaving her and making her do the walk won't be obviously punishy enough and instead they'll just have some awkward fetish porn scene where someone tears her clothes off, they throw her down, and they flog her a few times, then someone grabs some threatening looking instrument and we fade to black as she screams in pain. Why have subtext when you can have torture (and tits)?

Dany didn't lose her hair in the pyre so I'd guess they aren't going to subject Heady to it either. And maybe a butt double for the low angle shot of the march of shame.

It's a heavily metaphorical scene (Cersei stripped of any covering, even her own hair, forced to walk before the city with all the crimes she's committed against it laid bare), and D&D have not shown any taste for that sort of subtlety. I think Cersei will be stripped naked and beaten viciously in the chapel and then sent back to the red keep in a cart doing her best "fetal and traumatized" look.

IIRC there were shots of Lena Headey in production where she was in a short wig and her back was fairly bloody looking. She was also nude as I remember reading they got permission to shoot her naked because the church in the town it was filmed in refused to allow it. As if HBO would pass on a chance for tits or rear end.

I get what you're going for (a lot of the internal struggle will be lost in the adaptation, etc), but a walk of shame is anything but subtle.
