The Stupids is more wall-to-wall ridiculous but The Pest has Jeffrey Jones. And each film has one weird out-of-place racist scene!

The Pest does have John Legauizamo clicking his heels together and counting his farts like the vampire from Sesame Street. Tough call there. Also our old friend Jeffrey Jones! I love the Stay Tuned episode.

Having not seen Stealth I wondered just what pants Jessica Biel was wearing to find the Male Gaze at 10,000 feet. Skimming through the movie on youtube I find that her North Korea pants look tighter than her pants in Blade 3. Amazing.

Biel is a really good actor but she was just coming off the TCM remake and was only really known for her fabulous body at the time.

Tammy and the T Rex, just because I can't believe it's an actual thing. If I want to hear them be hilariously angry at a movie I might suggest Drop Dead Fred.

I've already got mine lined up, because I was going to suggest it last year before it occurred to me how perfect Buried Alive was for the show. But, basically, I've got to hear them tear into Christmas Do-Over. It's in that subgenre of "let's get rid of mom's new boyfriend" family movies that they hold so dear, except mom's new boyfriend is an actual earthbound saint and Jay Mohr is the reprehensible protagonist. It's pure, refined discomfort.

I already know what I'm calling in: Exit to Eden. A weird softcore porn 50 Shades of Grey 20 years before its time, starring Rosie O'Donnell and Dan Aykroyd. I saw it on HBO at 3 in the morning once and it was something you really have to see to believe.

Just listened to the Alex Jones/Bill Hicks episode of Blame it on Outer Space. It is everything I wanted. The only thing is that they didn't mention Alex Jones' first film role was Linklater's first film, Slacker. Also, somehow I didn't know that Alex Jones is about my age. He seriously seems like he should be way older since that puts him as a 19 year old in Slacker, which doesn't seem right. fake edit: Wait, no, he would have been 16 but also IMDB tells me he isn't in it anyway. Did someone change the Matrix again?

You know what was a good year for movies? 1999. I don't know if it was people being afraid of Y2K or something but as a year as a whole, 1999 produced a huge amount of amazing films.

Yeah I remember that, because by that time he had crossed over from "endearing weirdo" to "literally doesn't believe anything he says, is Evil Rush Limbaugh" so I was a bit confused that Linklater would still be so close to someone like that. His rant in Waking Life however is a highlight of the film.

Other than the stand outs of dramas and sci-fis of 1999, I think 1999 could be defined as the year of low-budget edgy teen-aimed/young adult movies, too. Never Been Kissed, She's all That, Varsity Blues, Cruel Intentions, American Pie, The Rage Carrie 2, Go, SLC Punk, Election, Idle Hands, Blair Witch, Drop Dead Gorgeous, Dick, Detroit Rock City, Teaching Mrs. Tingle, Drive Me Crazy. Not saying that films like this had never been out in number before or since, but was such a youth-centric year in film all things considered. I don't know if it's a result of the Scream movies or the sudden pop culture popularity of various young music groups that helped drive all these to go into production or what.

I'm not all the way through the episode yet, but when they started talking about what would really be going on at a camp without any adults or supervision, I'm surprised none of the guys mentioned Summer Camp Nightmare, which is about a camp where the kids take over, tie up the counselors (and I think the camp owner gets shot), and go all Lord of the Flies. It's like a House Arrest/Camp Nowhere thing but waaaaaaaaaaaaay darker. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vo33mjBebPI

I'm kind of stunned at their concencus that Red Heat is Walter Hill's worst movie. I've seen almost all of his films, and I'd place it, at worst, middle of the pack. Man's made some awesome movies, but he's made some really crap ones, too. Last Man Standing, Another 48 Hours, and Johnny Handsome jump immediately to mind.
