I rewatched some of DBZ recently and even in its bad moments, Super is noticeably better looking than DBZ. It's also managed to be as consistently entertaining as the best parts of DBZ so far, so I'm pretty okay with it on the whole. Toei trying to take down TFS suuuucks, though.

Honestly, in the small amount of anime I've watched, he's the one character I've found so insufferable that I said to myself "yeah, I can't enjoy this show if I keep seeing this character". Sorry your husbando gets on my nerves.

It's not so much that he's a good character on his own, more that he's a great foil to the very neurotic Ichimiya and Lucy.

I'm not a fan of the mecha design or CGI, and the character design doesn't really sway me either way, but I like the premise a fair bit. The last time I had this reaction was for Psycho-Pass, so with any luck Active Raid is even a tenth as good and will thus be worth watching.

They look fairly dynamic in motion. Orange usually does good work on the 3D, but I know not everyone is a fan of CGI. The girls look a little cute, I guess, but they're thankfully not pushing the potential fanservice angle too hard. The male characters look fine. It feels less grim and serious than Psycho-Pass though, given the atmosphere, which is why I think Tiger & Bunny is a better comparison. Or even the Patlabor OVA/TV series, for that matter, which always had more room for action comedy than either of the films. Which is alright by me, since we don't exactly tend to get tons of anime of this nature every season. wielder fucked around with this message at 16:26 on Dec 17, 2015 |

Psycho-Pass is weird in that even though it deals with some heavy poo poo, it's on the whole really not a grim or dark show because everyone involved in it (outside of Makishima) is friendly and relatively well-adjusted. I'm definitely hoping that Active Raid is on the more serious side of things rather than closer to T&B, though.

Spring show trailer, Koutetsujou no Kabaneri: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aZGjYjCnkLw Looks very Titan, which probably makes sense given the studio/director/composer, etc.

He just sometimes likes to investigate what colour people's blood is.
