Spatulater bro! posted:I've seen it only once, in the theater, and I hated it so much I nearly walked out. Should I give it another chance? It can't hurt. Whether you like it or not, I think it's important to recognize that it is not an unintelligent movie, it's very deliberate in what it's doing. Which given the comedies that were popular at the time, I don't know that most people viewed it that way.

Freddy Got Fingered is one of the rare DVDs that has both an R cut and a PG cut on the same disc. It's a feature I'm surprised isn't on more discs as some prefer the TV edits for things like Road House, The Big Lebowski and a lot of Kevin Smith films.

How in the hell do you make a PG cut of Freddy Got Fingered? Wouldn't it end up like 40 minutes long?

My three least popular films are - Meishi Street a documentary about the eviction of residents in Beijing during the lead up to the 2008 Olympics - Sand and Sorrow a documentary about the War in Darfur narrated by George Clooney and finally, - Louis CK Learns about the Catholic Church an amateurish short Louis CK put up on his YouTube page prior to Louie starting one of those was not like the others.

https://letterboxd.com/naostrem/ I just went in and got all my poo poo from Criticker ported over, which was not as painful as I expected. I went in and followed you all, and even though I'm not entirely sure there's a benefit to having followers, I want to subject you all to my odd taste in movies.

Is there any way to block a particular list? I'm sick of looking at a movie's page and finding that the top three lists are something like: 1. Random Movie Roulette 2. Every Film Ever Nominated For An Academy Award In Any Category 3. Every Movie Guillermo del Toro Has Ever Mentioned on Twitter It's frustrating because there actually are good and appropriate lists for a lot of these movies, but they're hidden by these 5000+ entry monstrosities. Blocking the user that created the list doesn't work, as far as I can tell. Lester Shy fucked around with this message at 01:57 on Mar 23, 2017 |

I wish the list thing at the bottom of a movie page prioritized your lists first. would be good to know if a rando movie i pull up is on a list of my own.

You know what, I can't tell if The Love Witch is my new favorite horror movie of 2016, or my new favorite romance movie of 2016, or my new favorite comedy of 2016 - help me out goons, who gets traded out, Nocturnal Animals, The Wailing, or Operation Avalanche? I'm leaning on the third. https://letterboxd.com/kenny_waste/list/the-goldblums-the-only-awards-that-matter-1/

If you're just starting out, I would watch the original and then move on to the Heisei and/or Millennium series with Shin thrown in there somewhere. The Showa series is fun but it gets very silly and kid-friendly.

I'm actually really glad Letterboxd doesn't do TV. I don't like my film and my television intermingling.

SciFiDownBeat posted:here's me: https://letterboxd.com/SciFiDownBeat/ Nothing to anything like the same level. Criticker has them, but doesn't let you rate by season. Sidereel lets you rate by season but doesn't really have any kind of collection features, it's much more akin to just having the Letterboxd's diary feature, but with reminders for new episodes (which is *great* but not really the same sorta thing)

Joe the Strummer posted:What about porn? Would it be weird if I logged and rated porn into my diary? I actually ended up adding the two oldest surviving porn films to TMDB just so I could log them on Letterboxd, but then the fucktards at TMDB went ahead and specified that it was an 'adult movie,' so it no longer shows up on Letterboxd. There's this weird situation where a lot of films on TMDB are clearly registered as adult movies, so they don't show up on Letterboxd - but some just aren't, and the admins apparently don't look into them very carefully, so they show up just fine. It leads to situations where you can log Deep Throat 2 and Deep Throat in Tokyo, but not Deep Throat. It's fuckin' stupid, just let people add porn, who gives a gently caress?
