Big advantage to a closed cabinet is it needs wayyyy less dusting. Plus it keeps the cats out of it. Also I don't want my house to have lego on every horizontal surface, which I could do if I wanted to. :spergin:

By doing stuff like, oh, I don't know, actually getting signatures when a signature is required.
without getting into it too much, thanks to technological advances, delivery drivers for many shipping companies are tracked by GPS and are watched constantly. If they fall behind schedule they are called up and yelled at, sometimes due to no fault of their own. It's the dystopian future idea of "pure efficiency or else", they've got a dude on their rear end if they're not operating at maximum efficiency. Not to excuse not waiting for a signature/not dropping off the package and leaving a slip instead, but it wouldn't surprise me with how companies like UPS have been squeezing their employees harder instead of hiring more, that they'd be in a huge rush.

college degrees? nah my legos take center stage ;)

for me I'm not going to be displaying my Lego sets much until I finagle a stacked Detolf layout since the Message Intercept Base(and its box) won't fit inside a normal upright Detolf. I plan on laying three of them on their sides, stacked, and building a wood/metal framework to prevent them from falling over. It'll allow me to fit the majority of large Lego sets inside it proper without any shenanigans.

I think I'll just report it to lego customer service, they already sent me the droid offer from may after I politely complained that their website showed it as still available after I made my order.
The couriers in Australia are mostly subcontractors of Australia post and are mostly poo poo, probably because of the deadlines and lack of care.

I'm kind of with them - I have a huge bias for ship/vehicles and any UCS that isn't a ship/vehicle is a wasted UCS.

On the other hand, any UCS that isn't a ship is money saved.

That feeling when UCS R2D2 and UCS Falcon were in your dark ages? That's what it feels like.

And you know what I would legit buy in a heartbeat? Lego UCS Helmets from the OG trilogy Vader, Boba, Stromtrooper. There's an ideas project that would never get through because its based on a license.

Non, je ne regrette rien

I just recently finished the Lepin WALL-E. Thoughts:

The model itself is fantastic. It's a pretty adorable representation of WALL-E himself, the build is interesting with a lot of differently structured parts coming together, and it's got so much articulation it's practically an action figure. The Lego version of this would be a solid 10/10.

As with the only other Lepin model I've done, the Blockade Runner, the bricks were almost indistinguishable from Lego quality. There were a couple plates I had to give a couple tries to stick flat, and the 3x2 plates are the wrong color (they're yellow instead of the yellow-orange of the rest of the model), but the latter are all hidden in the finished model.

Like the Blockade Runner, though, the Technic parts are where you can tell this isn't the real thing. There weren't many connections this time that were too tight (the treads don't move too readily, but I'm not sure if that's because the wheel axles are tight, or the treads have no traction), but there were a fair number that were really loose. WALL-E's head in particular has a tendency to topple forward, due to the ratcheted joint at the base of his neck slipping (not to be confused with the other head issue the original Lego set had, which is fixed in Lepin). It's not a model-breaking issue, but since WALL-E's head is front-heavy to begin with, it does mean that it has to be held far enough back to balance over the neck joint, or the lower neck joint has to be leaning all the way forwards, which limits his poses. The thumbs are also really loose, though they stay in place, and the hoses at the back of the head slide right out of their end cones. I could probably easily Bricklink those parts to fix them, though. Since a lot of the strength of this model comes from its articulation, it is kind of unfortunate that Lepin isn't great in that area, but a lot of the connections (eyes, arms, fingers, door) work really nicely too.

Overall a good purchase. You can tell it's a bootleg if you look close, but it's a very good bootleg.

The official Wall E treads don't roll very well either. The only way to get them to roll easily is over textured carpet that can grab the treads. I really want to bricklink some parts to color swap my WallE though.

I was perfectly okay with not getting the Saturn V rocket, but my dad dropped some pretty heavy hints about it for Father's Day. It looks like it's unavailable online and it's being gouged heavily on Amazon/eBay. I'm planning on running to the Lego store today, but my odds are pretty slim at this point, eh?

The Saturn V was my Father's Day present to myself. I picked it up at Barnes and Noble three days before release, and it has been murder walking by the box every day since, but not as murderous as if I had waited and then not been able to find it. Two more days until my kids and I dig into it. Can't wait.
