I used to lament that MTV didn't play videos, but then I eventually realized my favorite shows were Beavis and Butthead, Daria, and Liquid Television.

Although I suppose Beavis and Butthead was sort of videos. I loved the video segments.

There is definitely a push among cable channels to do nostalgia stuff. For example, Nickelodeon is doing TV movie continuations of both Rocco's Modern Life and Hey Arnold next year. I see a lot more of that kind of stuff now.

That one is a much better/funnier critique of the show itself, the crab rangoon one is good at showing how incredibly silly Steven A's whole persona is (and as noted in the article "crab rangoon" is an inherently funny phrase). I like the holocaust one more too but they're both really good in different ways

Eh. Deadspin is mostly good nowadays. They have their trash posts here and there, but like the actual reports, investigations and poo poo they do are almost all legit.

It's the Buzzfeed news thing. They need a way to pay for actual good reporting so they have a bunch of other mindless stuff to generate those sweet clicks.

Yeah, right now in terms of major sports, there's MLS soccer (which doesn't have much of a following) and MLB (which is very much a marathon in terms of seasons). Also Canadian Football if that's your thing.

Tour de France is over, two of the three major racing series are on break (F1 and IndyCar, not to mention that's Jalopnik's bag), US Football is just starting with NFL camps, and NHL and NBA are still a good ways away.

I just got though that. It's a very cool read. They've done a few other "story behind the photo of" for things like the Munich olympic terrorists, Brandi Chastain's sportsbra shot, the Bobby Orr goal photo, and that phenomenal Mary Decker picture.
