Croatoan posted:Aldo I'm gonna get 2lbs of smoked Gouda for $6 because their cheese is amazingly cheap. Oh and the salmon cakes because those are the best thing Costco sells. This is true. I got some Kerrygold cheese for like $5 where it'd be $7+ anywhere else. That poo poo is expensive.

FYI a lot of warehouses open doors earlier than posted hours. The one I worked at during college would open about 10-15 min early. I work at the Canadian office now and the warehouse we are beside opens at 9:30 every weekday because upper management is alllwayyss doing walks / just shopping.

We moved into a house right across the street from a Costco two years ago. It's actually the closest store to my house, closer than a regular grocery. We make our membership fee back in gas alone. I was also able to break my wife's pricey Whole Foods habit by introducing her to Costco's selection of organic foods. I work from home, so sometimes for lunch I'll go over and just graze on the free samples. If you go on a weekday, the lines aren't usually too bad.

Today I bought three rotisserie chickens from Costco. I'll deconstruct them for lunches, dinners, and general foodery. Make a chicken stock with the bones. Save the grease in the bottom of the pans for the dogs. Dog animal dogs not costco dog dogs. Dog coats are never as shiny as they are on Costco rotisserie chicken day(tm).

I work at 511 and we open early as well. Every single day there is apparently a lineup to get in. I've heard 540 its nuts though, with all the VP's doing their shopping there. I have you all beat on costco dog consumption. I have one every day, probably for about two years now. I've probably had around 500 dogs.

Fun fact, it's probably been mentioned but Costco was tired of the price increases of the hot dogs and other meat products so they stopped buying them from vendors and built their own drat meat factory to produce all the dogs in house.

Walmart increased the cost of my sadbrain meds and I am sick of having to discuss the finer points of rx discount cards with a dead-eyed Walmart tech for 20 minutes before they get smug and roll their eyes and say "let me ask mah supervisor," only to find out I was actually in the right because they couldn't enter in a string of characters. Costco apparently has their own in house rx discount program for free with membership, and sells that poo poo for such a low price that it pretty much pays for my membership with one refill, plus I never enter a Walmart that is bad even by Walmart standards. All this plus pizza and soda and gas at excellent prices. I bought a Groupon and will be getting $20 in church bux and a free pizza and a free box of paper towels. Praise be.
