Momo to Manji is my favorite thing right now and the entire first volume has been translated. I'd love for this to get an English release so that I can own a copy (and might have to just buy the jp version) because the art is gorgeous.

In the latter half of the Edo period...
In a narrow tenement in the humid heat of midsummer, two men exchange heated sighs as they have intercourse.
A former kagema, a male prostitute, Momoki, was picked up by Manji one rainy day.
The times that Manji spends treating Momoki not as a kagema, but gently, lovingly, holding him as a lover, are much like a dream.
To Momoki, those days are filled with happiness, no matter what may have happened in the past.

Fair warning -- nsfw, and there are two chapters that are a flashback to Momo's time as a prostitute and show his training, which happened when he was very young.

I thought this was just a joke, but sure enough the protagonist's heart skips a beat when the guy confesses to him for the second time (with his eyes having heart-shaped pupils even).

It'll be great if he ends up finding out the protagonist is a guy and he still stays interested in him.

edit: My issue with plots like this is that you're always waiting for the other foot to drop regarding the whole "secretly dressing as a girl" thing. Like, even if you know things will end up okay in the end, you still know there's going to be some inevitable awkward/unpleasant stuff.

edit2: I really like that he chose to reveal the truth to Botan. Usually these things end with the protagonist being involuntarily outted in some way.

edit3: Hahaha awesome, his sister was actually his brother. Also, that guy owns, he finds out Itsuki is a guy and instantly asked to be dressed like a woman as well.

edit4: Okay, caught up to the current chapter (which is presumably close to the end). I liked that comic; it felt "good natured" in a way that is hard to explain. The characters seemed to act in pretty reasonable ways Botan's reaction to finding out about the crossdressing was actually entirely reasonable, and I like how she took the time to seriously listen to his explanation for things), and the author didn't really milk the premise for excessive drama. I like how Tokujira was actually really sad/frustrated at being rejected, since usually the girls who "lose" in manga like this are instantly at peace with things as a way to preserve the ego of the protagonist.

Also, I find that manga aimed at straight males are often really bad on any topic remotely related to LGBT issues (or even just stuff outside of mainstream masculine culture), so it was interesting to see a shounen romcom portray guys cross-dressing just for the sake of enjoyment as a positive thing. Like, normally if a character like the main character's brother existed in a similar manga, they'd just be the butt of a joke. Similarly, when guys crossdress in manga it's usually in the context of it being some wacky thing they're forced by circumstances to do, but the main character in this ends up realizing that there are certain aspects of dressing in a feminine way that he genuinely enjoys.

Tbh all the manga within that shonen romcom crisscrossing manga that aren't softcore porn that I've read have been very friendly about crossdressing. Go figure. What really stands out about this one is that its mxf which seems more common for shoujo (whereas mm is the usual for shonen) similarly for gay attitudes there's nothing that really stands out to me, I guess the humor in the cliche mm ones is based around one guy swearing he's not attracted to another guy while the guy hits on him for a hundred chapters then they kiss which is dumb but at the end of the day still a gay romance. As usual Prunus Girl is best in class.
Maybe it's good to read things before assuming they're gonna be awful about the gays and gender.

I'm pretty sure that his sister is, in fact, his sister, rather than just crossdressing.

Which is to say I'm pretty sure she's trans.

I don't think it ever made that clear; the protagonist refers to them as his brother and I think at some point they referred to themselves as being a man (though it's always hard to tell since sometimes translators get weird about this sort of thing).

edit: Yeah, in chapter 18.5 someone says "Then Itsuki-san is...a man?!" and Itsuki both completes the sentence saying "a man" at the same time as the person and goes "Yup! That's how it is" afterwards in response.

Then again, given that manga is often kind of weird on issues like this it's possible they're just referring to being DMAB or something, though the impression I got was just that they're a guy who enjoys presenting in a feminine manner, which doesn't necessarily make someone trans.
