I'm in the minority here, but I'm fine with how they handed Rousey here. Her being the rumble would have been more exciting, but it's also what people were expecting. When she doesn't show in the Rumble you lose all expectation of her being on the show at all, which makes the reveal at the end work. I don't think Asuka's too overshadowed here either, she got a fun interaction with Rousey that neither of the champs did, and she's still going down in history as the winner of the first Women's Royal Rumble. And yeah this is a fine way to get ratings, lots of peeps will tune in to Raw hoping to see her show up.
