BobHoward posted:My favorite band released a video for one of their new album's songs about a month ago and it was, unexpectedly, AI as gently caress. Enjoy: This is really good. Also makes me really want to go to my local dirt track. It's just 15min from me but I've never been.

GnarlyCharlie4u posted:How the gently caress do you know Explosions but not Mogwai? Mogwai is a bit more obscure than Explosions, though I get that it's weird that you'd know about one and not the other because they're two big fishes in a smaller pond Remember that Explosions did the Friday Nights Live soundtrack, that was pretty huge for mainstream exposure Anyhow, since I should post content, I watched this awhile ago and really enjoyed it, it's the best build breakdown of theirs I've seen so far: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ztgvTY5H7PY I first saw Matt Farah do a really intriguing One Take of it but this video is way more wild, and you get a lot closer. Awesome build/owner (Def watch the One Take if you like that stuff, it's one of the better ones, Matt gets genuinely HYPED)

I have no idea how the hell I forgot about Mogwai, but I did. This is some seriously amazing stuff. I want to say the last time I heard anything from them was probably 10-15 years ago. ![]() Explosions in the Sky is something I'd heard of in passing, but never really listened to. e: thanks jerks, Mogwai's latest has been on repeat all day. randomidiot fucked around with this message at 10:24 on Jan 30, 2018 |

I still care about it, but once a month isn't often enough to build a good audience cadence. It's enough time for people to forget about it.

Or the Disgustang episode just really wasn't all that interesting compared to something like Stubby Bob. The episode that's currently on MTOD with them loving around at Dirtfish in a bunch of their cars is pretty good I think.

um excuse me posted:I still care about it, but once a month isn't often enough to build a good audience cadence. It's enough time for people to forget about it. counterpoint: project binky I surmise that Roadkill's popularity on these here forums waned for a few reasons - Media acquisition and mainstream audience growth has evolved the core concept from the original concept - Paid subscriptions have fractured the audience. People who subscribe to MOTD and watch the latest episodes won't mention/discuss it here, to avoid spoiling it for others. By the time those episodes escape the paywall and can be embedded/shared, the biggest fans have already moved on to the new hotness.

Also they're posted in like 3-4 different threads, who says interest is fading? It was a good episode, I watched it but had nothing to contribute.

I used to get excited to see a new ep was up in this thread, but with MTOD its all old news. Dirtfish shootout was good but not great. Roadkill garage is the best exclusive part of MTOD though.

Wasn't it 2 months since the last public RK? Felt like forever and I keep trying to replace them with something else - anything else. I need something to watch to take my mind off things and a regular and frequent release helps a bit ![]()

Fo3 posted:Wasn't it 2 months since the last public RK? Felt like forever and I keep trying to replace them with something else - anything else. They've been pretty consistent about one per month, usually on the first Friday of the month. AFAIK the last deviation from that schedule was caused by MCM vs. Roadkill being scheduled for a Christmas Day release. The Dirtfish episode should go public on March 2, and I'd expect that MTOD will see a new episode on February 23.
