Galaxy squad ruled and it’s a travesty they stopped the line. Shoulda had a tv show I guess.

I was meh about this set in particular but they had one out and the employee showed me the skittering legs and I was like woah bought. Plus I think it was the only red team set.

Also who doesn’t like an rear end catapult. Assapult?

I kind of just want it for the bartender, and the new ep 4 Han, and maybe a little bit for the weird speeder dealie but the older model is better. They didn’t have it in stock at my tru yesterday when I went to look for the WRC Fiesta.

I got my tax return and splurged on it, thing was $45 in store but $40 online with free shipping. Built it up a bit with the evaporators from the resistance x-wing and sandspeeder and some extra rock pieces to give the bartender area a wall. I like it for a back ground to my falcon/Luke’s speeder/escape pod shelf.

UFO kind of got redone too with the Alien Conquest theme.

You know, I always thought UFO and Insectoids were underrated themes. Sure, they were never as good as the older Space themes but I don't think they deserve a lot of the hate they get. The big specialised pieces suck, but I thought the concepts behind them were pretty solid.

Speaking of big specialised pieces, they have their uses. Here's something I've been working on. It uses both sizes of UFO dish and the big Insectoid legs:

I liked the UFO line quite a bit - lots of trans green and cool helmets.

Big dumb specialized parts were silly but it was kind of fun trying to find uses for them or just having something kinda bulky to build off of to give something more size without worrying about finding tons of small parts to give something structure.

Looking at some Nexo and Ninjago I'm kinda jealous of kids who get to grow up with that. There so much weaponry and minifig accesories that I would have loved to have as a kid. I wasn't big into the medieval and more fantasy lines that were around at the time so I always had a lack of weaponry that wasn't megaphones blasters.

Minifig accessories weren't that big a deal to me in the 80's.. what I loved was the greebles which was a rare commodity back then. I never had enough hoses or antennas.

Now it almost feels like lego has swung too far in the other direction, they're basically cranking out technic sets with a bunch of cheese wedges stuck to them, but it's hard to not see that this technique provides a lot more play options for a set.

I am super awesome.
Ninjago was/is such a huge force. It's gonna be really interesting to see how it's remembered in a decade or so. Some of the kids who were into the first wave are probably getting close to college age now. I wonder if any flippers have hoarded some of the early stuff.

Yep, 1x3 with the top studs offset 50% like the 1x2 versions.

If the top studs are hollowed like that, you could stack another 1x3 on top of it using the interior studs! Leave that one for future generations to find and :wtc:

Make the primary color dark azure and I'm down. Secondary color is not as important, light grey would obviously be the classic space choice but green or orange could be worth a look too. Or even white.

The real issue is choosing which transparent shade to use. Trans yellow or trans orange would create immediate nostalgia for some, but I bet light blue would look nice too.
