He spent most of the first 30 minutes of WOR laying out every reason the wrestlers need to unionize, while also saying after every section of it that they wont, but they should, but they wont. The gist is that they make poo poo money compared to athletes in organizations making similar money to the WWE and that there is no longer any time constraints on it, they don't need to hold up a Wrestlemania or the like, tv every week is now a big enough show that the wrestlers have tons of leverage that they could use to get what they want. remusclaw fucked around with this message at 18:32 on May 22, 2018 |

Was the big money TV deal (that the wrestler's likely won't see) the impetus for it?
# ? May 22, 2018 18:34 |
It was the impetus for him talking about it today but it sounded like he’s held the opinion for years and years
# ? May 22, 2018 18:37 |

Yeah. That TV deal is what gives the workers so much leverage. TV becoming the source of WWE money means holding up tv is now enough to hurt WWE if demands are not met. Previously, as I alluded to before, it would have had to happen before a real big show in order for it be something WWE couldn't just ignore.

The gist of it was that before something like this big TV deal, the only time they could all realistically put their feet down and refuse to work and get a positive response was Wrestlemania, which is an extremely hard sell to any worker. Now you can strike any time of the year because every episode is worth a ridiculous amount of money
