The Alliance is pretty much breaking up, and the fault line is between the more liberal voters (mainly within L and C who can consider working with S, which is basically a center party at this point) and the conservative ones (mainly withing KD and M, who are comfortable with giving Jimmie a victory if it means ruling). E: so basically don't expect a re-election until we've seen M crash and burn, and then seen if S can get through a minority coalition of their own, possibly S+MP+C or S+C+L with passive support from V and MP. Both are slim chances as the number of seats are hard to reach, but at the same time a lot of parties are afraid of a re-election. For example, Bush Thoor talks a tough talk, but dare she take her chances on voting against a center government, and then see if she still has support voters in a re-election (KD famously stays under the 4% threshold between all elections but are pushed up above it by support voters who really prefer another party, but knows that the Alliance is screwed without their seats). I'm pretty sure that V could also let such a coalition through as long as it's led by S. But really, we're into uncharted territory and everyone's guessing at best. Ann Heberlein is an (in)famous theology academic/author who went from a pretty standard liberal stuff to writing tons of anti-immigration and anti-muslim articles a few years ago. Basically the guy who supports her has THREE Swedish flags on his Twitter name, a reference to a a viking beverage, and complains that none of the Alliance parties has any testicle because they won't make a deal with the Sweden Democrats. So that tells you something about the kind of people in her corner.

The responder is basically bemoaning that two stanchly ultraliberal parties arent as afraid of the commies (V) as they are of a party of brownshirts. Before someone calls that hyperbole, what are SD if not a party of streetbrawlers and "ex" nazis? I for one kinda want M+SD+KD to form up just so we can shift the political discourse from "a non socialist/right wing majority" to "a non conservative majority" in parliament. Alliansen has to go eitherway, C and L would make good kingmaker checks against SD, but it might cost them in the long run if they block KD + M on their own I think. There's alot of right wing vote swapping, and always have been. S has basically ruled with V support every time they've been in government with a few rare exceptions, never have they sat in coalition.

With the exception of one particular yellow paper wherein the unions still retain editorial privileges (albeit not complete ownership), old money families own all of Sweden's major papers.
