i'm really glad that agito's bullshit repeated powerups can still be countered by the beard not sure if this is the best fight (there have been some great ones) but it's definitely up there

There's tons of flashbacks which Gensai hasn't pulled out yet: What his childhood was like How and why he began to learn karate How and why he became an assassin How he got to know Tokita Niko How he got to know and befriend His motivation for wanting to enter the Kengan Annihilation Tournament (as revealed in Lemmy's flashback, it was Gensai that asked Lemmy to join the tournament, not the other way around)

Holy poo poo, this fight is brutal. There's something about the way this artist draws injuries that makes me wince every time. It's really impossible to say who's gonna come out on top, but I think there's no beating the power of strong fundamentals. Gensai is gonna land a low kick of his own and break both of the Fang's shins.

Gensai is amazing because nobody would have expected this guy to be the loving mountain he is, especially since the manga has previously casually discarded "old martial arts master" archetypes as weaklings. Remember 80 year old kenpo master who got offscreened?
