Curious as to 500 qually will be handled, as that also shares its weekend with the Preakness Stakes, which NBC covers.

Way too many street circuits what the gently caress is this some stupid garbage European series? You keep getting more Europeans over here and the less good ol boy Americans have a chance to shine. When you think racing you think oval not some Mickey Mouse left right bullshit. Indycar needs to realize and remember it’s American first and racing second and bring back more ovals before all the sponsors and teams split off. Better yet they should!

I know that post wasn't totally serious but I halfway agree in that I don't really care for street circuits and would rather actual permanent road courses, tbh

I'd love to have the Michigan 500 back but there's no interest to be had among the decision makers so

There’s really only 4 street circuits on the schedule (one a double header), and all are pretty good, even Detroit these days. Rossi saving fuel vs charging RHR rocked last year. Honestly it’s to the point that I hope they DONT cut any street circuits cause I like the challenge/variety. What a great place to be in.

Literally the only track on there I'm not sure on yet is COTA. Outside of that I'd like to see either Fontana or Michigan, and maybe another smaller oval like New Hampshire or Milwaukee, even though I know pretty much all of these are non-starters.

Street Circuits put on the best show last year outside of Iowa.

Indycars have always raced well on street courses. Even lovely ones.

I might be the only person who prefers street to road Long Beach, Detroit, Toronto, St Pete and even some of the defunct tracks like Vancouver, Houston etc to me just scream AOWR

I cry over Cleveland. Sao Paulo holds a nice place in my heart for the crazy rear end race there in 2013, but I'm totally OK with not going back to Brazil due to the political climate. The Denver street course around the Pepsi Center was a decent street track that I kinda miss, too.

Time to inaugurate Dream Calendar Chat for the new thread eh? In a perfect world, IndyCar would have the current schedule plus the following:
At least some of those should be possible.

Cleveland probably put on the best CART races I’ve ever seen (‘95, ‘01). Also Long Beach ‘98.

Gateway is dope, get you an air BnB and stay for the weekend. The City Museum and the St. Louis zoo are always fun.

If they go to Mexico City they should race on the 1 mile flat oval that forms the backbone of the Formula E circuit

The last few years at Gateway, we make it a point to visit the zoo and then a brewery the night before, a dive bar the night of, and the City Museum the next morning. Always a blast. Flying Saucer closed last year, but the Crack Fox is always a fun time. Also, St. Louis style pizza has grown on me, it's good stuff.

The schedule goes: -St Pete- Good -COTA- TBD -Barber- Bad -Long Beach- Owns -Indy Road Course- Meh, but it's Indy/The Month of May -Indy 500- Owns -Detroit 1- Good -Detroit 2- Didn't we just do this yesterday? -Texas- Better when it was admittedly terrifying, but still OK. -Road America- Meh -Toronto- Meh, but it's been a staple. -Iowa- Owns -Mid-Ohio- Good -Pocono- Good -Gateway- Good -Portland- Good -Laguna Seca- Good Just replace a couple road/street courses with ovals and the schedule's more balanced. In a perfect world, I'd swap Barber (for which I have an inexplicable dislike), COTA/Road America, and one of the Detroit races (though I get why they have two there and Belle Isle itself isn't bad) and throw in Michigan (there's your second "Detroit" race)/Richmond/Milwaukee. The IMS road course adds nothing and at this point it feels like a painful roval race. I understand the history behind Miwaukee, but good riddance - I never enjoyed a single race I watched from there. I'm thrilled to have Portland and Gateway back, and i'd love to see another race in Canada, even Edmonton back on the calender.
