Also what's up with the "10,000,000 young Chinese communists to the countryside" thing? Is that a genuine attempt at some sort of ongoing cultural revolution or some kind of capitalist appropriation? Please assume I am dumb and uniformed and cannot process irony.

The original HUAC actually was started by New Dealers who couldn't believe that all the opposition to Roosevelt could possibly be coming from domestic sources and therefore assumed that there must be Nazi and Fascist dark money financing. It was sort of like 1930s Russia-gate - right down to the fact the people in question apparently didn't anticipate that the whole congressional investigations thing would inevitably get turned against them by the Republicans. Probably an example that the Mueller truthers might have done well to study more closely.
