Apparently one of our office floors is suspiciously empty and got disinfected. I'm sure the fact that no e-mail got sent just means things are fine.

Where are you getting the 10x from? Last I read the numbers kept changing and most media reports were skewed disproportionately by early numbers from China and recently Iran, and even if you pretend there were no false positives there are a lot of problems with relying on that to quantify the risk to the population of, say, Germany

Also Ramelow just got elected PM in Thuringa with abstentions from CDU and FDP (except for one single petty No vote from one of them, I'm guessing Kemmerich). So in the end CDU/FDP intrigued themselves into massive national backlash and a 10 points loss in the polls only to end up with the exact same result they could have gotten to begin with.

Still kinda mad that the scriptwriters of this hell reality chickened out of the "half the Landtag gets Corona quarantined the day before the vote" plotline tbh Also here at work we got like hourly updates on new Corona cases where each case was closer to us than the last, I was constantly hearing the Terminator music in my head

Reminder: Ebert, who allied himself with conservatives and Nazis instead of the workers movement, literally ordered Rosa Luxemburg's death and fought for the end of the communist revolution in Germany. Now, the SPD's foundation is named after him. Reminder: SPD top politicians routinely join the board of noted humanitarian organizations like Gazprom, Deutsche Bank and any other they enabled during their political tenure. Reminder: The SPD is responsible for the precariat's expansion and wage depression post 2000. Reminder: The SPD's only stable political agenda in the last decade has been to give out post-election presents to old people, ruining the future, because it's the only thing that gives them votes. Reminder: The SPD is the second most richest party in the world, after the CCP. Reminder: A few idiots still vote SPD in this country.

Coronavirus is simply a specific kind of virus that's with us for million of years and this kind of virus has been named in the Sixities. Many of our regular Erkältungskrankheiten are Coronaviruses, and most Coronaviruses are rather harmless to us. This one is just a very specially bad version. No Aluhut needed just because the name was used a year before - SARS and MERS were both Coronaviruses too for example.
