wasn't this year's flu particularly nasty? i was out of commission for 2 weeks, and only felt "well" a month and a half later. i got no sleep and was practically delirious for the first week.

This year's flu season was already strange, I've kinda been tracking it since everyone in my office was sick in November into December. We had a very high number of pneumonia cases that were not related to the actual flu virus and have had a string of weird rear end deaths and complications too. Some kid came down with a non-flu flu (classified as an ILI case) and had to have his goddamn HANDS amputated because of complications.

Whenever we finally get a test for the antibody, you guys need to get tested. For now, though, don't presume you actually had it. Take precautions to avoid strange coofers.

there was a weird lovely cold/flu around here in november/december that lingered in the chest and gave everyone bronchitis eventually. how rad would it be if the first wave actually hit North America last year, before spreading to china and mutating or just really hating smokers in polluted cities, and we just didn't notice because of our lovely healthcare

I was sicker than I had been in years in December. Terrible sinus problems and non stop cough and horrible headaches. All I could do was just lie in bed and try to sleep. I went to the doctor and he told me it was a viral infection and there wasn't anything he could do. The worst part of it was a week but it took probably a month to recover entirely and I'm still pretty boogery when I wake up in the morning.

when i think back on all the crap i caught in high school it's a wonder i'm alive at all and though my lack of hygiene hasn't hurt me none i can read the writing on the wall caronachrome it gives us those awful symptoms the insurance will eat our incomes makes you think all the WHO's a hosed up place, oh yea i got a off-brand face mask i love to rub my face a lot so mamma don't take my caronachrome away sorry, i've had this stuck in my head

Mark me down as another mysteriously bad bronchitis case in early January. May have progressed to pneumonia, I had crackly breathing. At one point I lost my voice from coughing so much. Didn't see a health care professional and was close to going to the hospital but made it through. 2 months later I'm not fully ok. It had all the symptoms of COVID-19 though I was pretty sure it is just bad flu, I wonder a little. When they have the antibody test I want to check Whatever I got was awful and everyone seemed to get it in the office. If it was just the bad flu then COVID-19 would tear this place apart

I know a friend who works in a hospital here in Ireland talked about a very chesty flu back at the start of January that was going around. So I am not ruling out that the virus has been here for a while or in the world's general population at the very least.
