Donald Trumps childish meltdown over his comments on Thursday where he suggested that people inject Clorox into their lungs, continues. He is having an actual doctor, who could be helping on the front lines treat COVID-19 patients, instead waste time making excuses for his lack of intelligence. Without zero doubts, Trump absolutely suggested to the public, that they consume bleach in order to cure COVID-19, and he did it because a cult leader from Florida sent him a letter telling him to do it. The run around answer of "we'll have doctors take a look at this." is completely laughable and absurd. Everyone but him, has known for decades that you cannot consume this poo poo. :psypop: I really hope this is the tipping point for him that does make stop holding these press conferences. He threw a tantrum on Twitter last night stating he would stop, but you can never tell with Trump because he lies so much.

There are regulations around the marketing of alcohol because it's an addictive and destructive substance, not because some bureaucrat was bored on a Tuesday.

Liquor companies would be giving away kids' toys with a purchase if they had the option.

This is the same kind of logic used by the hospital administrators terminating the healthcare workers for daring to supply their own PPE. We're in the middle of a pandemic, maybe its more important to get hand sanitizer out to as many people as possible instead of enforcing some minor regulation.

Man I really wish even one person had the guts to contradict him in public. Even ONE person. There's so many people standing around him while he says these things and not one of the half dozen present (who objectively know better than him) is selfless enough to say "actually, that's incorrect, there is no research done on whether injecting loving bleach into your veins will help coronavirus".

So just give people the hand sanitizer instead of throwing it in with the purchase of beer? A brewer's marketing gimmick isn't really relevant to the overal public health response.

I don't want to go too deep on it but Cuomo swoon me for like a week or two because of his response on the covid. However, I digged a little bit deeper, and found out he is just "generic neo-libiral #2125". The only reason why he seem competent is because he is getting compared to Trump. Compare it to Trudeau's and Quebec's response and he looks like a clown.

This is generally what happens when your state's economy shits the bed and your tax revenue goes to zero...unlike the feds you can't print money, and New York's state constitution requires the governor to submit a balanced budget.

This is true of pretty much every state (the balanced budget) and an even bigger deal when you take into account McConnel telling States to go bankrupt. It's gonna cause a lot of people to lose jobs and further the Republican strategy of killing government through 1000 cuts, furloughs, and job losses.

i lived in nyc for a decade and half of my family is old new yorkers and my opinion is that deblasio and cuomo both suck and so does bloomberg and so does guiliani. also its generally impossible to come to any kind of power in new york (or new jersey) without being a corrupt piece of poo poo on multiple levels. the previous two governors before cuomo resigned in disgrace

that said, due to the way the city is built and the way people live there the virus was bound to get pretty bad no matter who was in charge

Bankruptcy is going to hand control of what creditors take a haircut to federal judges. Judges who were appointed by Trump. That's the con.

Ontario's Premier Doug Ford (the former crackhead mayor of Toronto's brother) who everyone thought was going to be our version of Trump has really stepped up as well. He and his staff are looking completely wiped every time they have a conference, they have been totally honest, have not mentioned anything about partisanship, and have been saying that they are working with the Prime Minister (opposing party) and other provinces to handle the situation in a coordinated effort. The other day there was a similar "we want hair cuts" protest in front of the Legislature Building and City hall (just a few dozen people) and he went out of his way to say what they were doing was stupid, dangerous, and that they were, "a bunch of Yahoos".

I was pleasantly surprised with Ford when I was on the phone with some folks from ontario. He came in as such a blowhard but they were saying he basically put his hands up and said "I'm a premier and it's my job to deal with this but I'm going to lean on these medical experts and do what they say".

i live in OC and i KNOW people that are taking their kids to the beach every day, they are precisely the kinds of people that will gladly send their children to your house for a sleepover but never, ever reciprocate because they cannot stand having children around making noise and being present and just in general annoying them, especially if they are "trying hard to work from home". the more you tell them they can't and shouldn't go out, even if they are legally allowed to, the less they will listen. it's pure selfishness. 'i won't get it' or 'i already had it' are the refrains of the california moron.
