I'm disappointed that the MAGA rally wasn't full of people like was promised. Owning trump on low turnout numbers is a short term win.

The low turnout was worth it for the "dejected Trump" pictures alone.

As of last week, my large regional hospital here in central Florida has a census count 10% higher than the all time high from early May of COVID+ inpatients with about the same amount of rule out observations.

It's important to remember that around 20 people got infected at a Vermont basketball game with 3,000 in attendance in March. Three of them died. We're almost halfway to that number, only counting the PREP TEAM for the event. Holy loving poo poo.

Should I get out of the City (of Cleveland) again and go back to my dad's house? Cases are spiking in the county, honestly they are spiking everywhere, we might just go to the cabin 2 hours east of CBUS in the sticks. IDK anymore.

Am unreasonably tired after taking a modest walk. Probably due to sitting on my rear end for the last three months. Or maybe I've caught the plague. This seems fine.

You don't have to get out of the city to just stay inside though. It depends on your hobbies and also I guess how much time you want to spend in a (small?) house with your dad. If you like going on walks/fishing/hunting/idk, then that should be enjoyable. But if you prefer Netflix and videogames or painting figurines or just being alone, then just plan your trips to the grocery store and buy big or get them delivered and then just hole up. You'll still have to get your food from somewhere out in the country, and you won't have the comforts of home.

Every time I feel a breeze from air conditioning in a public space I remember that scene from Outbreak where they look up at the vent and realize it's airborne. But I'm sure the movie theaters would still be packed if they opened back up tomorrow because gotta keep living your life.

It seems like just six months ago people where begging for a mix em up of the daily grind. Yeah sure covids not really the ideal wild card, but its certainly changed everything. Everythings different now, adapt or die. my own drat sister who works in a hospital gave me this spiel after I tried to tell her letting her kids run free in the neighbor hood was probably not the best idea. it hurts

Ran away from the city in order to camp out at a dead inn, feels very Silent Hill but they are cleaning well. Abbott seems to have at least acknowledged that TX is fuxed without changes this afternoon, not holding hope out there and just keeping the fam safe/pantry stocked. Talked to my brother who I almost had to with when parents were in danger of catching covid a couple of weeks in when he doubled down on CHUD. He’s since disconnected from the FOX machine and seems to realize the sort of shitshow we’ve ended up in. I wouldn’t have predicted this in a thousand years and was feeling sad about losing a bro that way. Not testing the waters with my father yet, might be a lost cause about this poo poo but we at least had a good shared remote Father’s Day; it’s my first. We can talk about it down the road I hope. Anecdotal but extremely surprising experience from my end I thought I’d share.

A good idea might be to set the cruise control at phase 2 and just coast until a lot of us get sick and better. But I think instead we will bang out the last 2 phases regardless of the spikes.
