Bidem, viewing the strike on Trunp as an act of aggression against America, angrily refuses to make an oath. Then, perhaps being groggy from his nappy-nap, Yujiro gives an uncharacteristically deferential “Yessir.” Is that it? An under-discussed characteristic of Biden is his overwhelming need for others to respect his Republican “friends” who he shook hands with in the 70s but now vote to sabotage America just to spite him. Yeah, I’ll cut it out with bringing my political baggage into this. Sorry. I’ve had a bit of trouble sorting through the comic’s long history, with its big patches that were untranslated until recently. Yujiro is softening a lot and I’m having a bit of a time figuring out how deep the newer, more introspective Yujiro goes. I wonder if Itagaki is going to try and surprise us with the direction he’s going to go in.
