just got a large Aeron half off at the dwr outlet turns out that if you are using a standard size office chair, but in reality you have tall loving legs and need 20-21" of seat height and 18" of chair depth, that you will end up with major ergonomic problems after a while, ugh

Need some help interior design thread! Trying to identify what colour this light blue/grey is: My partner and I have been just trying it by eye with like, colormind.io but are thinking maybe a different set of eyes is necessary. I think it's kind of like B5CDD1, my partner guessed B6C1D2.

you can't really identify color accurately from pictures, as it will be affected by the camera used, the natural and artificial lighting in the room, etc. I did try feeding it to this site - http://mkweb.bcgsc.ca/color-summarizer/ which returned 208,201,195. easyrgb says a very close match to this is stonington gray, which I actually have in my home. but who knows how accurate that is honestly are you looking for something similar for your home? actionjackson fucked around with this message at 00:39 on May 31, 2021 |

That's a photo from the house we're closing on in a little under a month We're trying to identify something as close as possible to it so we can possibly keep it in a few areas; we like it in that front room, for example. We did just start generating palettes from scratch though, and have been having fun; plus that gives me more of an excuse to buy an extra tool or two that would help with painting

Just go to the paint store and ask for "Hermann Göring uniform" -colour paint.

Just wait until you move in, and then you have three options: 1) see if the previous owners saved the paint (easiest) otherwise 2) take off a small piece (around the size of a quarter is fine) of the drywall in an inconspicuous spot and bring it to a paint store to match or 3) most painters will have a tool where they can analyze the paint color directly on the wall with paint you pretty much always need to see things in person.

Wracking our brains trying to figure out what to put in the middle of our living area between the kitchen and tv area. Just a rug? Another table? No idea. Was hoping to see what you all think. Apologies about the mess and poo poo rear end curtains in the big window (they were used in our apartment we lived in for a year) - we just moved in and are figuring things out. We are eventually going to get a nice entertaininment area for the tv and I need to put the tv on the wall when that comes up. I know my wife wants a bar cart near the fridge but that middle area is bugging us. Crude floor plan:

Here's the floor plan, hehe. The bottom center area is just the hallway leading to our rooms and bathroom. As you can see it's about 33' by roughly 20 feet of area to fill up.

It would make it feel more like its own space.

Perhaps tv centered between window and the other wall (ie moved left several feet). Also move couch closer to tv so there's not a weird 2' of dead space between the stairs and it. Can you reconfigure that couch? If somehow I'd make a back side face the kitchen so it's more of an area/room dividing thing. Also literally just move poo poo to different spots and try every possible combination, even if it seems wrong. That usually helps me. Edit: just noticed the weird ceiling indentation, wtf is that. falz fucked around with this message at 20:25 on Jun 1, 2021 |

Or do what everyone else does and plop a bunch of EXPEDIT/KALLAX/other open shelving bookcases in there. Or there are some nice standalone entryway racks that could provide a partition if you don’t have something fitting that use. eta: not sure how recently you moved, but I’d wait a bit to get a good idea of what you want out of your space and where the problems are before dropping too much $$ on it
