Pretty sure Tulm is more metal than fehotep. In fact, I would argue most dullahan are

The Titans Question interlude is so good. the fakeout where you think Niers is talking about Earthfolk but it's dragons, Niers sending Foliana to erase Wils memory because it's bullshit for him to give up his real question, all just fantastic Edit: I would like to update my most metal character to the entirety of the bloodfields Josh Christ fucked around with this message at 10:33 on Jun 3, 2021 |

Feels like I'm going to eat poo poo for this in a few pages but I genuinely do not care about or know why I'm spending a chapter with the Players. No clue. Go back to the ants. I'm incredibly aware that I say this every time the story deviates and then go holy poo poo that was amazing, and yet, Edit: nope, still don't care. P joins D as the worst letter. There's a brief few chapters where the players become a bigger part of the story, and the fanbase rightly hates them, so they do go back to being bit part players. I mean, they're still worldwide celebrities, but the story cares less for them, so keep going. Josh Christ posted:Double posting because I read Interlude - Talia last night, the one where you meet the goblin slayer Honestly and without hyperbole, the goblins in TWI are among the best parts of it - it's fascinating to see how far they come in such a short time. I'm listening to the audiobook of book 3 atm, and I forgot just how wild they are at the start, and how untintelligent the story makes them out to be, right up until they develop empathy.

Just wanna give a shout out to bird for causing a diplomatic incident because he wanted to shoot the big birds. Love that ant. Edit: it's incredibly hosed up to go to slice of life flashbacks immediately after this. Not as hosed ip as "time for a bunch of L or D chapters when things are getting wild in the main story" but it's up there Another edit: I really appreciate the slow progression of Klbkch from weird stoic cop with a dipshit partner who's your buddy to just sociopathic rear end in a top hat, not because his behavior changes but because you have more exposure to it Josh Christ fucked around with this message at 00:56 on Jun 6, 2021 |

Klb's kind of weird now (spoilers for much further ahead, I think?) It was easy to imagine him sacrificing himself for Erin the way he was before, but I can't imagine him doing that the way he is now. He just went off the deep end and hasn't really come back from it.

TWI Patreon: 1. Drassi is so good and her character progression over the course of TWI is great. Give me Remi side story. 2. I don't buy any death that happens mid-volume anymore but Fetohep owns so whatever, this is better. 3. It's gonna be... uh, interesting to see where the story goes with an imperialist foreign power funding and sending military support to an expansionist nation in another continent.

If he actually got any more than the brief bit of sentence we saw, that could be interesting. More TWI Patreon stuff This had me so upset and excited at the same time. I love Fehotep as a character and really didn't want him to leave the story, but adventures with Erin would be fantastic and hilarious. This whole chapter was wonderful and had me on the edge of my seat, I was actually sure one of the two kings was going to die. I guess one did, just not for very long. I worry for both of their retaliations though, we already know Fehotep is extremely pissed and Flos has a lot of reason to be angry. I imagine that some of the allies to Medain might back out after seeing how hopeless their "victory" was.

More TWI. The Flos resolution surprised me. I thought for sure one of the assassins would wind up as a successor of one of the Seven, particularly with the emphasis on the one taking satisfaction in building things/

PracGuide: As expected, Hakram is also going off in a different direction and becoming Warlord. It's kind of interesting how, at this point, the only member of the Woe who isn't really independent is Archer, who was originally the most independent member of the Woe. And I have a feeling Archer will see a lot of development in the upcoming inevitable conflict between Archer (and the other Refuge people) and Ranger. Hope they gently caress Ranger up, Ranger sucks. Going to be curious to see Catherine's reaction to Hakram. I think this might actually hit her really hard; even though whatever Hakram does is unlikely to directly be at odds with what Catherine wants, he's leaving his role as her Adjutant. Catherine was expecting Akua's betrayal and wasn't particularly surprised to hear that Black might be at odds with her (though it still upset her), but this is going to completely blindside her. edit: Speaking of the Refuge people/Ranger, the most recent Patreon chapter (PracGuide author recently started releasing monthly Patreon chapters) centers on the Refuge kids. It's funny that Hunter's back-story is basically "read stories about hunters and thought it'd be rad to be a hunter." The previous two chapters were about the origins of Saint of Swords.
