Hi everyone, hope you are doing well, I've been very out of sorts lately as my greyhound Abby passed away this weekend :| But on the more positive side and actually thread related, I will be having my bathroom vanity and linen closet "remodeled" soon! I'll be getting new, larger slab doors and drawer fronts, hinges with larger overlays to give a "frameless" look, and hardware which will either probably be a polished chrome handle to match my other fixtures on the drawers, and some sort of edge pull for the doors. color will be some sort of white. My aunt suggested mockett for hardware which, from asking some other people as well, seems to make a great product. handles https://www.mockett.com/dp128.html these edge pulls can be put in flush with the top of the door, which is cool (i.e. they cut out a very thin section on top of the door and drop it in) https://www.mockett.com/dp3-2.html

I once organized my books by colour (and then size) and it does look really nice, but it's very stressful because there are so many edge cases.

The fixtures in that Illinois home are dope as hell, but wouldn't a stainless steel kitchen cause lots of zaps in the winter?

I just use a can of stainless steel cleaner I "borrowed" from my last kitchen job Gotta love that last day shopping trip, so much bigger than the usual end-of-shift one

The landscape outside that otherwise pretty modern house is extremely boring looking. Kind of a waste of those giant windows. To be honest, I can’t stand the books-by-color or spine-in book arrangements and they’re getting to be so prevalent.

The Zillow search term of the day is this entire goddamn listing because this house (2 houses, actually) deserves its own dedicated post https://www.zillow.com/homedetails/210-NW-7th-St-Hubbard-TX-76648/90390338_zpid/ welcome to a perfectly normal Victorian carpeted kitchen is the first bad sign and...here..we..go you knew this was coming oh god they're escaping BUT WAIT there's more! A 1911 Craftsman that is also extremely normal there are just photos of two rooms so I assume all the creepy dolls are stashed in the rest of the house not shown: "detached climate controlled 10 car garage with living upstairs" I can only assume they store more tchotchkes in said garage

The Zillow search term of the day is "do justice". The Zillow search term of the day is "pie". No not the food, it's the name for the tight squared-spiral staircases found in really old Pennsylvania farmhouses. Also featuring t h i c c wood and t h i c c windowsills https://www.zillow.com/homedetails/2425-Diamond-St-Sellersville-PA-18960/9010523_zpid/ really nicely done kitchen upstairs floors could use some love https://www.zillow.com/homedetails/86-Durham-Rd-Ottsville-PA-18942/9101658_zpid/ https://www.zillow.com/homedetails/622-Headquarters-Rd-Ottsville-PA-18942/9100704_zpid/ https://www.zillow.com/homedetails/49-Frankenfield-Rd-Ottsville-PA-18942/9100590_zpid/ so the pie staircase is in this little garden cottage but they don't actually show a photo of the stairs, just the doors it goes up here https://www.zillow.com/homedetails/2942-Holicong-Rd-Doylestown-PA-18902/8981031_zpid/ I want this room https://www.zillow.com/homedetails/1442-River-Rd-Upper-Black-Eddy-PA-18972/8959471_zpid/

I stayed at a lake house once that had a pie-style staircase down to the the dock and I watched a woman fall down the entire thing because she misjudged the width. I can't imagine they're very safe.

I feel like I am going though the five stages of grief every time I try shopping for a specific piece of furniture. Anger: $3000 for a media console? I mean it is pretty nice but lol who the gently caress pays that much for a cabinet, what am I, made of money? Denial: I don't actually need a cabinet that can hide all the speakers that I hate looking at, I'll just get something less expensive and set them on top, I bet I could learn to live with it Bargaining: BDI Corridor has literally everything I am looking for but I bet I can find something similar or a knockoff that will work for me! Let's spend a dozen hours over several weeks time obsessively browsing every option! Depression: Why do these sites only have like 3 pictures and no listed interior dimensions? 0 reviews, how can I possibly decide if this is junk or not since I can't even see the drat thing in person?? Why is every popular store a Wayfair brand? Furniture shopping sucks I hate it so much why do I have to be so picky jesus gently caress I hate this Acceptance: Actually $3000 seems reasonable for something well made that I'll probably have forever, let's find a local dealer and go see it in person <----we are now here Thinking about the Elements now since actually I don't like the glass top of the Corridor that much, of course it's more expensive lol
