Covid Family Status Update We have been real worried about our 6 month old who seems to have developed a very persistent cough. At least until we realized he figured out how to fake cough from listening to my wife and is now making fun of her non stop.

work is finally acknowledging that covid exists. OFC no sort of vaccine/mask mandate. But explicitly "don't come in if you're sick" I got tested this morning because my housemate was exposed by her mom (tested positive yesterday) this weekend. Housemate tested this afternoon. I've had a sore throat for a couple of days and tight chest. I was brushing it off as a nothingburger/prob from vaping. I called to tell them that, and because I'm vaxxed, and those symptoms could be from anything, they said I had to bring my rear end back into work. "you can take the proper precautions: wear a mask, distance, and use germx (lol)" I'm the only one p much at my workplaces/jobsites that masks up. So I came back in to work and tried to keep my distance. A client walks up, ofc no mask, and starts asking me all of this and that. She's a nurse at a large children's hospital. I'm going to be loving pissed if I pop positive and these ghouls had me come back in while I was waiting for my results. I'm going to be full bore raging if I got her sick/a wing of the childrens hospital sick. gently caress everything.

They also sent out a couple of emails "person x and y from HVAC company are sick w covid. X is in the hospital and not doing well. He isn't going to die. Be patient w the company while they shuffle to cover them being missing" "the install crew for countertop company X has 4 covid positive cases, the other 2 are still awaiting their results. be patient when trying to schedule countertop installs"

80 people in the ED, I've never seen so many at this hospital. There are only 40 actual rooms. Thank god this time we let all the nurses die or leave health care and every unit is past danger critical staff shortage. Admin still won't offer competitive wages. The big hospital franchise in the state offers $8/hr more for fresh out the NCLEX babies compared to the experienced nurse pay this dumbass hospital offers.

doing errands today after work and lol an employee at Costco asked me about my half mask respirator, where I bought it, etc etc. Then later at a grocery store a customer commented "drat that's a nice mask" said thank you and then they wanted to know everything about it and where to buy it. Even pulled up the grainger website for it lmao need to start carrying a card with a link to all the resources nice that the general public is catching on

I know Honeywell makes respirators that are intended for use in a shower, but I've never seen any 3M models with that capability listed anywhere and I already have a bunch of cartridges for my 7500 series. I have to shower in for work

I haven't gotten any emails yet about what is happening which is odd. Last year the company pretty much handled the situation as well as I could hope. It may be terminal lib brain from the suits and a very strong desire to return to normal like everywhere else.
