Scanning the study it appears that Moderna crew showed significantly higher overall protection against the consequence chain (infection - hospitalization - ICU - death), with lower breakthroughs, lower hospitalizations, and lower ICU admins vs. Pfizer and way better against unvaxxed. Oddly, there was only 1 death in their 25,000+ sample from Mar-July across the Moderna and Pfizer matched cohorts, and it was a Moderna recipient. Among breakthroughs however (which was a small number) there were the usual 20% to the Hospital, One big limitation in this study is that it had really low parity for Black folks (only 1.5-2% of their cohorts were black), for whatever that counts for in this context. They also didn't do time from vaccination vs. infection data as a factor of analysis. Nevertheless it looks like poo poo still seems to be working to protect the individual.
