If you look closely, you'll see that it was only cut in two directions. The ball is just hollow, which means that it will create some pieces that look like they're cut in three ways.

If it was only cut in two you'd get long curved arch shapes that go the length of the ball that fit through the gaps in the racket.

This one isn't so much a panel as a cover page — alas, MD has no chapters of it, nor do any of the other sites I checked — but it is still a manga image I like. All we know about it for sure is that its original language is Japanese, the publication status is Ongoing, and if the cover art is anything to go by, its content can most likely be described as A Thing Alright. also it's got these tags
