Recently redid a tenant kitchen to one of my favorite color schemes.

Old

New

Some of the changes:

Green cabinets, removed sticker backsplash and did white drywall, painted the linoleum counter top to a faux granite, gold cabinet hardware, gold faucet, a gorgeous mid century pendant, painted the sink white, replaced the garbage disposal and installed a neat sink insert button for it. Overall not a bad facelift.

What should I do with the window treatment? Obviously the view is great lol. I feel like the wrong curtains will make it look outdated.

This may or may not qualify as a plumbing thing, but it's something you folks might know from experience.

I want to replace this 20-year-old Moen contractor-grade roman faucet (forgive my cameo in the pic).

The knobs are just screw-down, the faucet itself is held on by a hex screw on the back and just pulls up and off. My problem is, even replacing it with another Moen I'm unsure if just any old thing, eg

https://www.amazon.com/Moen-T4943BN...C28Y4QQB1H8703Z

would drop down on top, or if I'd need to also swap out the internal parts to make it work. (That probably makes it more trouble than it's worth.) Is there a way to be sure before I order something? Are these actually more standardized than I think (or actually much less so)?

Thanks all!

I'm surprised to hear you can just replace the finish. I'd just replace the entire thing myself. Just order it and if it doesn't fit, Amazon's return policy is the best on the internet bar none. You don't even need the original packaging anymore lol.

By finish I meant hardware, compared with having to replace the valves and such.

I don't have access to anything beneath the tub without the job becoming more trouble than it's worth, so I'm going to do Amazon, actually, just buy a nicer modern moen and see if it screws down.

Original house was built in 1734, kitchen was a much addition - it usually is on houses this old, since in ye olden days kitchens were, in a separate building, or in the basement, and/or didn't exist the way we know them today and just consisted of a stove/fireplace and tables. Often the new kitchens clash hardw with the rest of the house.
The bedroom looks like a pretty typical colonial bedroom aside from the paint job, maybe one of the kids really liked colors or something.

The weird thing about that house for me is how uncomfortably close it is to the strip mall next door.

Oppressively brown, holy poo poo.

The other photos include a number of examples of rooms with pleasant white walls where the rest of the decor doesn't look like it's been attacked by a color vampire.

And one that reminds me of my house in Animal Crossing New Leaf with the minimalist set.

General note: There are places reserved in Hell for all those people painting oak fireplace surrounds. Obviously, some of them were built from cheaper wood and intended to be painted, but when there's a lot of built-in exposed wood and only the fireplace white, it's a choice. A damned choice.

I would call that 'in the arts and crafts style', yes. It looks to me too be more on the 'crafts' side of things though. It's not very refined. Perhaps more a folk art/shed built thing. Which is neat on it's own merit.

The piece's heritage is a spinning chair or stool -- i.e. it's what you would use to spin on a spinning wheel. I'm not impressed with that specific one. Unless you're in Antarctica, you can find something similar and better within 500 miles
