It's generally reasonable to assume people wouldn't take on the politics of people who actively want to kill them. Obviously there will always be people who fall outside those expectations but they're a minority within a minority.

ShoogaSlim posted:why would being trans have anything to do with whether you're pro or anti vax or what political affiliation you have? I pointed it out because the very specific people Mina Caputo has been echoing, retweeting, what-have-you, are extreme transphobes. And not like "You'd never know unless you really dig deep" transphobes. It's one of their main things. Caitlin Jenner and Blaire White have made it extremely clear already that trans people are not magical creatures with perfect opinions.

Henchman of Santa posted:Sometimes it sounds really cool and other times it sounds like Imagine Dragons. It's also never quite as hybridized as I would like it to be. Reminds me of how Panopticon get sold as "bluegrass meets black metal" but those two sides are almost entirely separate. I like Panopticon a lot, but he doesn’t even really do bluegrass anymore. The dark folk stuff is good too but yeah it’s too musically distant from the metal to really be a hybrid, it’s just a band that does both. The connection between that kind of black metal and folk is purely atmospheric. Ironically the way bluegrass is played and structured could work very well with death metal in the same way jazz does but I don’t know that anyone has ever tried it.

Awhile back I posted a link to my friend Diego's bandcamp page with a link to his melodic metal album Myth. He just released his new single "The Wanderer" today and it's great: https://diegosanjorge.bandcamp.com/track/the-wanderer This is the first track from his new EP which should be out later this year

Nazzadan posted:Yeah it rips, I think I was wrong to label it as atmoblack this is just fast fierce bm. I dunno, I think its overall mood is melancholic enough. I've been calling it atmoblack, although it's certainly from the less weebly-woobly floaty end. Agreed that it loving rules though. The guy's previous stuff is worth listening too, it's pretty much the same kinda stuff. Another non-Bandcamp release from today: New Star One album, for all us nerdy power metal nerds: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gct7orq3Zcw EDIT: Well, it's more prog than power metal, aside from the opening track. It's Lucassen, so the prog parts aren't terrible, but I still wish there'd be more straightforward bangers like that opener. drat that track whips.
