I suppose its only metal adjacent, but the new Blood Incantation album came out and and its pretty cool in a very deliberate Tangerine Dream / Popol Vuh kind of way. No riffs but very nice spacey sounds.

Have you got the blu ray version? I'm really keen to see the visuals that they made for it.

And Epic Games + bandcamp seems weird, does this mean we'll see weekly free albums?

I've really been in a mood for doom with religious overtones lately. Things like:

Candlemass - Samarithan
Griftegård - A Beam in the Eye of the Lord
Pallbearer - A Plea for Understanding

In fact if anyone has any recs that match the vibes of these tracks I'd love to hear them.

When a song sounds like a reject from 'repo the genetic opera' it should not go on the album imo

Y'all want some obscure and maybe slightly religiously-overtoned doom? Here, from 1993 Norway and about as far from the then-trendy black metal as you can get:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bOvHC_s6Kjw

I used to vaguely know the main guy behind this band. Yeah, that's supposedly Dan Swanö on vocals, but I don't mean him, the main guy played guitar and bass. I knew him from the local nerd-gaming scene, board games and RPGs. We were both nerds.

Really quite silly indeed.

It's me, I am the one liking the new Ghost song, cause it reminds me of mummy dust in a way and I like the experimentation. That being said, it's probably one of the weaker songs I've heard thus far from the new album.

I like it too, it stays in my head. It's dumb and the spooky occult scoobydoo rock Forge used to do is all but gone, but he still manages to do catchy stuff.
