It probably got to the point where they were like "ok itagaki you're a senior here but the feedback says that if you keep this sumo stuff going the series is getting dropped" I'm trying to think of a lowest point than the sumo stuff along the series and coming up empty. I don't even think the issue was that sumo itself was a bad theme, just the weird as gently caress pacing. We'll see if it's really over though.
