Just saw behemoth at a festival, and they really brought the poo poo. Would recommend. Merciful fate followed after, but after the intensity of upside down triple crosses on fire and blastbeats, fell kinda flat

House of Atreus and Sacriphyx are two bands I often see come up when people ask for Arghoslent without the racism, though tbh Sacriphyx are pretty boring. They don’t normally sound like this but this Cormorant song is a deliberate attempt to take the Arghoslent sound but flip the lyrical content around. Coheed's a strange band because it's very Rush-inspired prog mixed with kinda an almost pop punk sometimes, so it's not really two crowds that have a lot of crossover. I personally love them but if you listen to the first few albums and aren't digging them, the rest of their stuff isn't gonna change your mind

House of Atreus aren't explicitly racist in their lyrics, but depending on your sus tolerance they might not be the guilt-free Arghoslent you're looking for. Buying from Drakkar while trying to avoid Nazis is a fool's errand. Best I got is Draghkar, whose name sounds like Drakkar and whose music sounds like Arghoslent, but they're probably not Nazis because they share a member with Acephalix and Vastum

I generally like concept albums and love Coheed but the storyline is really corny and makes the lyrics strange so it's not really like you can even just listen for the music because you'll have to clear Claudio's falsetto sing something like "the crown turbine second stage ascendscy leads the neverender IV: fear thru the eyes of madness"

Anyway I just saw them live last night, and it was incredible. Easily one of the best concerts I've ever been to; the crowd was huge and the band were so into it. I'd bought the tickets the year before COVID, but really I'd been waiting more like 20 years to see them. Just incredible.
