I think it’s a mix of this and his dark plans. One thing I took away from this chapter about Hancock’s Devil Fruit is how uniquely deadly it is in a world where common villagers can survive things like being swallowed by a gigantic boar. Hancock revealing that she has to turn them back or they’re as good as dead, even if they give the fruit to someone else, is about the closest we have seen to a fruit that just lets you kill people outright. Even if Blackbeard gave it to someone nowhere near as attractive, that would have a devastating potential on a battlefield.

I convinced my friend to start reading last year, and she made it to around Reverse Mountain before falling off for a pretty long while. She picked it back up sometime last month, and ~30 days ago she was on Chapter 131. Yesterday she let me know she had passed Chapter 500. One of us. One of us!

I still think Pudding and Sugar's are some of the more broken fruits. One that can effectively recreate who you are as a person via rewriting your life experiences and another that effectively erases you from existence until the user is incapacitated are both not physically powerful but can totally destroy anyone with little defense against them. The only reason Luffy is even remembered by anyone is because of Ussop's goofy face.

i dont think the yami yami fruit is anything else, but if it were it would probably be the moon fruit. its intersting going back to the picture of blackbeard as a kid because 2 things are prominent about him: his terrible emotional state, and the giant crescent moon put next to him. with luffy as our sun god bringing a romance dawn to the world, blackbeard as his moon foil makes sense.
