CMLL announced the line up for the Women's Grand Prix, some talent people in here will be interested in: https://twitter.com/CMLL_OFICIAL/status/1570182978243796998 The Grand Prix is a Mexico vs the World Cibernetico. The men's version was amazing, the CMLL women aren't very good but who knows Ciberneticos can lead to good stuff with not so great talent.

Abadon had visa issues so is being replaced by the only wrestler scarier: Mei Suruga. https://twitter.com/misterhakusan/status/1570263423350624256?t=doj1uVkVrpVDilOuU9_n2A&s=19

drat, that sucks for Abadon I hope she gets another chance to wrestle for TJPW in the near future, I'd be delighted to see how they present her after seeing what a great job they did with Max the Impaler

Stardom announced the first two matches for the next New Blood show: Momo Kohgo vs rhythm (JTO) Mai Sakurai vs Chanyota (PPP Tokyo) Others who've watched more JTO recently can perhaps comment ore on rhythm but she was always well below the first gen of JTO people and passed by many others as well. Still an indication that everyone there will probably get a look (and makes the YuuRI Ganbare jump funnier to me). Chanyota is primarily a porn star outside of wrestling I believe: certainly that's what I know her as. Your milage may vary on whether this is typical Stardom, or a progressive move that demonstrates that they don't care about her other job.

PPP is sponsored (maybe even partially owned? not sure) by a major porn studio, so it's less surprising that she's a wrestler-slash-porn star than it is that she's their only one tbh e: Not joshi related but they're also Joji Otani's home promotion nowadays, which is a shame because their shows seem like a lot of fun but that makes me feel pretty gross about supporting them Johnny Landmine fucked around with this message at 11:57 on Sep 15, 2022 |

Interesting Kyona-related scoop from VOW (same update as the Luigi Primo to GLEAT thing) - apparently she (or Sumie who I assume is the one getting bookings) is saying that she's not going to work any intergender matches (or rather that she'll only face women) and they say that a promoter has basically told them that a lot of the "we want to see her against the best women" posts you're seeing from some promotions are not what those places actually think. Makes sense: she's not been booked in any; has worked at most a handful (didn't look through all of her Stardom stuff but they did intergender a handful of times total after their early years; the one match I could find was on a Kagetsu Produce show against a random Osaka wrestler in a three way) and while I don't think anyone has openly said anything you see reports that there are some female wrestlers who aren't comfortable doing intergender and either don't do it or do it because they'd not get booked otherwise; so her going 'not for me thanks' is not at all surprising. Also beneficial in my eyes: while from a fan perspective I want the best matches possible (don't think anything will stop Kyona vs Maya Yukihi admittedly) if you look at it more broadly the best thing for the US women's wrestling scene is for the promising, green people on it to work against someone like Jungle Kyona who's experienced and very good and honestly that's more appealing to me as well than matches against random dudes.

If Sumie is booking these Joshi, what does she have against Miyacoco? She's been begging for an American booking since forever and I don't think the Deadlock boys would hate her style.

I assume there’s no connection there to set anything up - the people that Sumie has worked as agent for from my knowledge are affiliated with a big company (NJPW, DG) or Kyona where there’s the Hana connection and also Sumie had a relationship with Stardom via the ROH stuff. Miyacoco isn’t a big name in Japan never mind outside; and pet of this also will be knowing the person coming in will actually get bookings. The Nomad’s people going in I believe set stuff up themselves (perhaps Haku helped out at times) which is an option for her as well. Frankly I think the answer is some combo of her not having contacts (working in another country is much more complicated than just tweeting “wanna work America”) and not working to build those and promoters not being interested. If you look at the other Japanese women to work America post-COVID; they either are TJPW wrestlers where AEW has massively helped: Kyona who has relocated for the rest of the year: worked Stardom and has Sumie to help get bookings, Mio who has Nagayo in the back pocket to get in the door (and who is also one of the best wrestlers in the world) Asuka who has the AEW tournament and Yuki who is probably the closest to Miyacoco however she’s been a consistent main eventer in Japan in her time while Miyacoco is mainly a mid card comedy wrestler. Takase is probably the most random but thats 100% Deadlock liking her and making it happen plus also again she is a former company ace who is really good.

Yuna Mizumori is leaving Gatoh Move and going freelance

I guess the question that we'll learn the answer of in the future is whether she's going freelance or "going freelance". She's worked both Stardom and TJPW in the last twelve months (latter was teaming with SAKI on an Inspiration, former was on New Blood and in the Sumo Hall rumble) so might have impressed people there: while she's not got expensive freelance experience she worked AWG Color's a lot so there's the Color's group that probably helps her (and they also are working Stardom a lot); until mid 2019 she was semi-regular in SEAd and that seems to have stopped because they worked with Ice Ribbon more and leaving Gatoh Move unblocks that political issue; and frankly they run so many shows that it can block up having a regular freelance schedule. Certainly one to keep an eye on especially in the context of a Stardom mystery people match at the weekend.

Well that’s understandable I guess. She didn’t get any titles in gmtv, from my recollection and you gotta try to move on to see how good you can be.

also frankly Gatoh Move is a microindie by design and you can only get so far there. If you look at the history of Gatoh Move there's a fair few people who debuted, worked for four years and retired (Mitsuru Konno is a recent example, perhaps Lulu) and if you want to dedicate time to wrestling full time the options are to accept that you'll be in this small promotion and throw everything into it (and realistically how many slots does Emi have for that?); or leave and either work freelance full time or sign with a bigger company where you might be lower on the card but where the pay is almost certainly better and where you've got more certainty.
