UlTRA 64 is a cheap, worthless, peice of poo poo 2 views Subscribe User131915's profile photo User131915 unread, Sep 30, 1996, 3:00:00 AM to The Ultra 64 is a big conspiracy. The representatives at Nintendo don't know what they are talking about and furthermore they do not think that the Ultra64 is good at all. My friend is the manager at one of the EB and said that the Nintendo 64 will flop. He gets this newspaper that lists all the costs of production to final net pay. He said that a cartridge costs $30 to make and when you finish with all the labor and shipping the total comes out to about $50. The retailer must make a 100% and that's when the cost of the games will be going up. It's rumored that the Ultra games will cost from 70 to 180 dollars. This is not a false statement I have been getting word from manufacturers that the Killer Instinct game will cost around $140 and that controllers aren't sturdy at all. Further more I am in the process of proving that Nintendo produced better systems for game magazine editors and retail owners so that they give the system a very outstanding rating. I believe that people aren't going to go out to stores and spending $150 on a game. I have also heard that the price of Saturn and Playstation is going down to $100. While the prices of Ultra games will be going up the prices of Saturn and Playstation games will be going down to the market breaking price of $30-$50. This will cause Nintendo some serious convincing to the consumer. I have been getting word from Midway that Nintendo programmers aren't dong very good jobs in translating the games into the Ultra platform. If you want to enjoy only two games a month then get the ultra but if you want a larger selection and more accesories then go for Saturn or Playstation.

The Playstation is true gaming bliss. It has the most well crafted games in history - and truly is in the lead sales wise. Anybody who has a Playstation has their marbles all present and correct That is assuming they didn't mess up and get a N64 or Sucktern. Anyway, - with gems like Crash Bandicoot (best platformer of all time) Die Hard Trilogy (Better than any other version and out first) - Wipeout 2097 (Best racing game of all time) and future games like Crash Bandicoot 2 (Set to destroy Mario 64 and Nights) - Porche Challenge (The best looking car game EVER to grace a home console) - Blade Edge (souls edge - gorgious N64 and Sucktern beating graphics and gameplay!) - who can deny the N64 and Saturn just plain blow it loud with huge meaty smelly chuncks in comparison (and without) to the PS! LONG LIVE SONY AND THEIR MASTERFULL CREATIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! BTW - gently caress YOY!

GAME-MAD DAD 'KILLED BABY' Twin son 'dead under GameCube fan dad' By Aidan Mcgurran A WEEPING mother told yesterday how she found one of her twin baby sons lying dead on a sofa under her computer-mad boyfriend. Zoe O'Leary, 18, spotted the leg of four-month Byron poking out from beneath sleeping James Tuffs who was said to become enraged if interrupted while playing on his Nintendo GameCube. She said: "James was lying on him. I started shaking and screaming at him to move. He got up and picked up Byron. I said 'Oh my God you've killed my baby'." Byron had a fractured skull and two fractured ribs. His brother Tyrese - who was sleeping on the floor - had fractures to his skull, ribs arm and legs. Dad Tuffs, 21, denies manslaughter and cruelty. Prosecutor Oliver Sells said there was no cause of death for Byron. But he dismissed Tuffs' claim that the baby suffocated when he fell asleep on top of him, saying: "These serious and extensive injuries were caused by this defendant who must have operated a persistent regime of cruelty." Tuffs cared for Byron and Tyrese downstairs while Zoe looked after their daughter, Aaliyah, now two, upstairs, Norwich crown court heard. But he was accused of preferring computer games to his children. The twins, it was claimed, would regularly fall asleep on the sofa while Tuffs played into the early hours. Mr Sells said: "You will hear something about his moods - irritable if his games were interrupted, on occasion shouting. He would rather play on the computer than anything else.

Awhile back, someone mentioned something about a programmer's secret in the old Atari2600 game Yar's Revenge. Could somebody please E-mail me how to do the secret? Plus any other tricks there might happen to be in any other games (aside from Adventure . I've decided to rake out the 75 games I have and crank 'em up... ah, nostalgia! BTW: Did you ever notice that, if a given game is really popular, people are eventually going to find interesting bugs in it (a la SF2, with Guile's neat tricks ...? Well, when Pac Man was popular on the 2600, I found a keen little bug that I never hear people talk about... Enter the up-down tunnel. Often, it takes a few seconds before you appear on the other side. Anyways, while you're in "limbo", rapidly move up and down on the joystick several times, and when you stop, end up moving down. EG: up-down-up-down-up-down-up-down-up-DOWN (for those who didn't catch what I meant . If you see yourself leave the tunnel during the time you do this, you'll have to start over 'cause it won't work. Now, if you did it correctly (and it takes practice), when you appear at the top of the screen, rather than coming out of the tunnel, you appear to "fold" your way onto the screen, and it looks strange. Here's the neat part. At this point, when you move down, you go THROUGH THE BLOCKS in the center of the screen. You can only move up and down, though. Once you go back through the tunnel, it goes back to normal. Cool trick, eh? Now I'm going to talk about some tricks that are not only dangerous to your Atari hardware and cartridges, but they require that you use the original 2600 (not the small, black one). All of the following tricks are performed by turning the 2600 unit off and back on, with very little pause between (which is a no-no, but we were using someone else's 2600 . Again, it takes a few tries (often, a LOT of tries) but it eventually works. Curiously, I have found that almost EVERY game has some really odd but interestingly helpful malfunction when you do it. But I only remember a few of the interesting ones. Asteroids: Having performed the no-no successfully, you'll begin playing the game, only the asteroids are all white, and they all come at you from the right side of the screen. You can simply sit there pressing "fire" until you faint, and the asteroids will never reach you. Pitfall II: If you do it right, the first thing you see is graphic puke. Moving around a bit, you discover that the cart started you on the floor where Quickclaw was at! (Normally, you have to go through some rather severe pains to reach him). Incidentally, this is the only way I ever actually beat the game . That's about all I can remember... One question: Some people out there, please tell us what YOU think the most obscure 2600 game was. I have a lot of REALLY obscure ones, but I'm mostly surprised at how few Frogger II games I've seen other people in ownership of. Anyone else? (no need to mention games that were never released) Finally, when is someone going to come out with a 2600-emulator? The Amiga could handle it (the 2600 uses copperlists similar to the Amiga, and consequentially it can display more colors than the NES and has a larger pallete), so why doesn't it? We've got our Gameboy emulator... (not really . _ __ ___ ____ _____ _____________ __ _ ___ ___ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ ///_//__//___//____//_______ _ \\// \\ // \V/ )/ )/ )/ )/ )/ ) // // // mjb...@lonestar.utsa.edu / // /) )/ _ \V/ _ // (/ // _ // (/ / \X/ \X/ \X/ "You fat, bloated BAKA!!"
