I'm reminded of the reason I don't read about One Piece anywhere but these forums- It was argued forcefully and with absurd certainty that Franky could not join the Strawhats because his fighting style was just punching things, the same as Luffy. The crew's shipwright had to be Paulie, with his unique way of fighting with ropes. This was still argued during Franky's fight on Enies Lobby and dominated the chapter discussion on the Arlong Park forums. So apparently Franky is also a punching specialist.

I like Baby 5's DF. It has varied applications that make for fun fight scenes, while still having a clear concept instead of being a grab bag of powers like Doflamingo's or Law's.

Though Luffy could probably also do it with Haki alone at this point. But the existence of the light gloves/saber makes me think someone else is going to end up fighting him. Since Luffy wouldn't need them. But he could still use them for fun I guess.

When it was announced, it looked like the art would just be like from the manga/anime and existing official art, but I'm pleasantly surprised that there's a fair bit of original art.

Yeah, I think Gear 5 is going to be the norm from here on out. It's not so much a trump card but rather Luffy becoming his most true and free self. It is massive power creep sure but Luffy is a Yonko now and no longer the underdog that he used to be. So I think it fits.

the specific form is ridiculous, but wishing you could combine his brawn and your brains is simple enough. it's the temporary possession fruit. the funk brothers combine the awe-inspiring powers of being kind of strong and kind of mean. if the two people using it were more impressive it might be something special.

Yeah, I can imagine someone being in the exact situation the jacket-jacket man was in where his brother/friend/whatever was impossibly strong but was a weenie and thinking “drat, my guy is so strong but doesn’t have that killer instinct, if only I could wrap around him like…a jacket…”.
