It’s funny, the bands mentioned in this video that I have the most fondness for I tend to like best when they go less Emo. Also holy poo poo there were absolutely no women anywhere in 99% of these bands. I think maybe one frontwoman and one female guitarist until the very end when Hayley Williams pops up as a “and here’s a band you know that was influenced by these formative ones”. Sad boys can get just as toxic as the angry ones. Sad boys can get just as toxic as the angry ones. i don’t gently caress with this thread anymore but if you haven’t read Jessica Hopper’s 2003 piece on emo’s misogyny problem, Emo: Where The Girls Aren’t you really should. it’s not perfect and it is almost 20 years old but it was a very influential article. i love emo and that era of post-hardcore but man is there a rancid aura coming from a big chunk of it that just isn’t possible to ignore.

that stream is fun because like many jerma streams he had a dumb idea years ago and stuck to it despite it being potentially confusing or alienating. this one involves watching two different streams simultaneously. the basic premise is that every year he does a stream awards show where viewers vote on various best and worst moments of the year. this time around his stream gets 'hijacked' by a bitter fan and jerma has to call on the power of dark magic and learn the true meaning of christmas to get his stream back. featuring cameos from lots of streamer buds, bugleberry, and santa claus himself of course id link a doubled version so you can watch both the main jerma channel and the 'backup' channel simultaneously, but youtube age restricted one of them so youll have to figure that out yourself https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q-ZfWeWqNdg https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OXT5NNRKNQM

The good news is that capcom has never gone after fanworks*. there's hundreds of megaman fangames out there and somehow magically capcom still owns the franchise *they did send a cease and desist to a doujin game that was being sold for profit, and that likely IS required to prove that they're defending their copyright. they also shut down a remake of RE2 that was being made while the official one was in the works, as well as a remake of an old mobile game. since corrupted is a fresh new game not being sold for $money, JKB should be fine

i am fine with dhar mann videos getting posted because they are sometimes baffling, especially when he tries to talk about current issues, like the one where dhar mann did all of 5 seconds of research into the will smith slap and had the will smith character continuing to pog out over the slap several days later, UNTIL HIS SON DOES A SLAP there's also a cottage (cheese) industry of dhar ripoff channels that are insanely bad
