So I got Albert Haitham while trying to roll on Yaoyao (I know I should have waited for the Lantern Event, but she's adorable, gently caress you.) He seems to be dendro non-waifu Keqing, which is ok, since I don't have Keqing (somehow the game has seen fit to give me 4 Qiqis for some reason, but I digress.) What 4-star sword does Albert want? Sapwood blade looks good, so does Lion's roar, since hyperbloom is so good. But also the sacrificial blade looks pretty MVP for him, since his elemental skill has a hefty 16 sec cooldown, and Albert doesn't want to be caught lackin' (mirrors). Otherwise use Iron Sting. Black Sword is another decent option if you need crit to balance his ratios. Sac is a big damage loss, he doesn't need that much ER if you give him a battery and the way his kit works you don't need it for long field time. Basically you want to start with his burst, get three mirrors, attack, 4s later charged attack, 4s after that skill, attack out and your burst should be back up again.

I finally had luck shine upon me. I figured I'd throw a few wishes at the Xiao banner to see if I could pull a Yaoyao. I guess I had forgotten I was already 70 wishes deep from 6+ months ago. 6 wishes in, I got Xiao. So I threw another 30 wishes at it. And... got another Xiao. That's my first 5* I ever got at sub-70 wishes. Is... Xiao good? Is C1 Xiao good? What's a good Xiao team?

none of xiao's constellations do anything, besides c6 xiao is cool, not the top of the meta but strong enough to hold his own plus pogo stick boy is a neat playstyle

Xiao team pre Faruzan is Xiao, Bennett, Jean, Zhongli. Jean can be any anemo unit though, he just mainly needs a battery. His c1 at least gives you another use of his skills so unlike c2-c5 it does something. Otherwise, sacrifice a goat for c6 Faruzan next time she's around to make Xiao super tall.

xiao is decent damage for extremely low investment since he doesnt really depend on reactions he isnt super team dependant, just find buffers for him mostly. benny, yunjin (she doesnt buff plunging but you can do N1->Plunge as a combo for okay damage), faruzan, zhongli, etc.

Alhaitham Story Spoilers: why are there so many assholes at the fantasy university trying to borg the sumeran populace. maybe put some psyche checks in for "likelihood to become a egomaniacal brain lord if given enough resources" when admitting new researchers, i dunno. also, why did paimon get so aggro at the dude for lying literally moments after seeing how much he got poo poo on for making the barest stand against the akademiya's hosed up exploitative culture. first time i was completely opposite reaction from her about the story.

I am no longer asking, let me play as a summoner eremite  They've got NA strings with full infusion uptime, they've got elemental skills and bursts, and a fun pet that walks around and attacks alongside you. He's got energy problems and AoE content usually isn't highly emphasized, but the damage is there and he provides decent utility via damage mitigation+stagger resistance. 7/10, dendro Beidou.

Actually, killing off the entire Elysian Realm is probably a better indicator than Himeko, since it's so much more recent.

Also I'm playing through the big questline for the update, and it really made me smile when (very minor spoiler but it was a nice moment) they asked to play cards during the quest downtime. They should do that more.

It's really interesting seeing people review Dehya's kit in the leaks. Some folks are on suicide watch, some are actually really irate at Hoyo about gating so much behind C1. I wonder what will happen if they don't streamline things? (they most likely will, its early)

Deyha currently has a very confused kit but her animations are great. So it's not entirely bad. Plus I'm sure even if she releases in a state that causes most people to consider her terrible there will still be use cases coming up as more artifact sets and characters release that she better meshes with

Her burst seems to do actual damage, I didnt understand it at all until I saw a video. I'm still not fully understanding the mechanics of it but it looks like it does somewhere around 3000%. So layering Ayaka and Dehya's bursts will at least be cute. I'd be interested in Ayaka/Xingqiu/Dehya/Bennett it should blow up the geo frog pretty fast. There's a lot unfavorable about her kit and it's impossible for her to actually be better than Xiangling outside of the tanking passives but her burst isnt wildly undertuned like her E is.

Dehya definitely has a signature artifact set that hasn't been leaked yet. It probably reads something like this: 2-piece: +18% ATK 4-piece: Every time Dehya causes a pyro reaction, gain one stack of Puissant Belligerence. These stacks last for 10 seconds. Upon gaining 5 stacks of Puissant Beligerence, Dehya will dropkick the sun out of the sky, dealing AOE pyro damage over a set interval.
