To be fair that was added later because PD2 learned the hard way the lesson DT is learning now about map selection.

HOW DOES IT FEEL TO BE DEAD, MOTHERFUCKER?

Crit while aiming if im using lasgun, reload if im using anything else. I havent seen a situation where bleed grenades actually proved helpful. The damage is just so small, it would be one thing if they fully stacked bleed but I think they only add 1 or 2 stacks?

Lights out is the platonic ideal of this game IMO. you can see all the care that went into the geometry and modeling and how they've realized the 40k world as you get these great contrasting colors and sections differentiated by the enemies + the general ambiance of the area. Like there is a hallway with a bunch of glowing pale green monitors lighting the way, then its pitch black but you see the glowing eyes of the zombies or the green accents of the enemies. A daemonhost rising up illuminates the area in that gross neon green. And the flashlights just take everything over the top. Enemy shadows getting played along the wall, lasguns lighting up the dark tunnels. Its all very good.

If only they would fix their loving game

Bleed is really for horde clear and it's really good at that; I frequently switch between crit and bleed and the difference in effect versus hordes is super noticable. It's not going to do jack versus specials but more than doubles the effective lethal range on your grenades versus trash and significantly softens up the survivors, since even if the mob is on the very edge of the explosion and only takes 1 damage due to fall-off it still gets bleed stacks.

It's also worth noting that causing bleed potentially synergies with your Zealot buddy.

i guess i should try it out more but i basically play heresy\damnation with the idea that my melee should 1 shot hordes like antax\eviscerator zealot or butcher cleaver ogryn so the idea of the bleed helping hit break points isnt that compelling. I think the synergy with the bleed talent on zealot and ogryn are the best avenue to convince me on it.

Ill give it a go next week after reset when i play my vet again!

Typically when I throw Vet grenades, I'm throwing several of them since you get so many with the nade regen feat. Stacking bleeds from multiple grenades over a pretty wide area clears things out pretty well.

What level 25 perk on Sharpshooter do people like to run?

The bleed stacks on grenade add up big in a crowd if you spam the grenades in twos like you should with the grenade regeneration but do piddly versus flak and maniacs and carapace

Deadshot is really good for what it does because crit rolls in groups so it shines even with full auto

Reload speed rules for extending Volley Fire

Dead shot for the XII, reload on Plas or Boltgun.

I'm not really a fan of the vet grenades. They are fine, but not worth spending feats on.

No lights out missions anymore?

I'm viable ladies.

I played multiple Lights Out missions last night and earlier today, but it does some like it's rotating like Dogs mod did where it disappears for a chunk of hours and comes back later. It's very fun but kind of exhausting to constantly play, it ironically feels way more difficult than High Intensity because you really can't see a lot of specials and Scab or Dreg Stalkers if they spawn. You can just have Shotgunners roll up on you in the dark all stealthy and destroy you before you even know they're there.

Also thanks to the goons who helped me get the It's Just a Flesh Wound penance on Zealot, now I just need to finish enough missions and it will officially be my first fully completed class!

We did it on Throneside as 4 zealots but just barely squeaked in at 20 minutes even with moving fast. People generally do it on the train station Assassination.

Chasm terminal and Hab drayko are two I can consistently sub 20. Some maps have entire rooms/sections you can skip by beelining right to the elevator. Gonna be hard with a pug tho

That's a penance squad deal or bust.

Same for "deal 90% damage to a boss" or pick and mix.

Wouldn't it be cool if flashlights were an optional add on you could buy that attached to any weapon, and came in different sizes/intensities? Think of how easy it would be to add that into a real customizable weapon system instead of the horseshit we got lol

Man, for the stress levels involved, getting 30 plasteel and 20 diamantine for almost completing a Heresy mission makes it feel like a really bad time. We had an insanely skillful Zealot with us, but we ate poo poo very quickly when he disappeared, probably due to a crash.

Like, released as-is it's far better than most of these 4 player looter shooters? It's easily the top of the entire genre imo, I put 3x as many hours into it as I ever have into any other game in the genre despite features that aren't in yet, people are being weirdly extreme entitled babies about it. I suppose if they had marked it Early Access it would be Positive instead.

e: I played more hours of Darktide than I did of VT1+VT2+DRG combined

is the joke that people are deliberately ignoring that you can actually change your loadout in the ready screen right now, the button is in the lower right

if there's missing functionality, it's that you can't see what your teammates are using and so you may need to be proactive about having a weapon that can shoot back at snipers

You can't change your loadout while actually loading into the level or at the start. The amount of times I am in the 60 second count down lobby waiting for people to join is minimal. My biggest experience is loading into the game solo with bots (in which case I'd like to swap up at the start if possible) or loading into an already in progress game and not getting a chance to change poo poo. Also sometimes you get into that prelobby and theres like 10 seconds left on the count down. Or its already about to load and locked in.

The devs absolutely beefed it releasing in this state and then going on vacation for six weeks. if there had been a January 1 update saying “we know people are really unhappy with the loot system, we plan to add X feature and hope to have it done by Y date even though we may miss it, we’ll update you as we work” then there would be a lot less ire

Yeah exactly. I don't really care that they went on vacation and if they wanted to take an even longer vacation go for it, it's just sort of irresponsible to release a game and not acknowledge what's even wrong with it.

this game's ragdolls are CPU intensive to an absurd degree. I tried turning them up to 36 while lowering other settings and performance got drastically worse during fights. Turned them down to the minimum of 3 and performance was drastically better than the default of 12.
