The pico balloon makes sense and is plausible IMO but the descriptions of the objects were they were cylindrical and car sized while these are about three feet across and spherical. If the administration is refusing to just outright say they weren't alien and keeps playing coy about the objects, I think that leans towards something pretty exotic overall, even if man-made.
