in the sense of "attempting to make cute characters leads to them having some superficial similarities to kittens" it is accurate, but mukokuseki wasn't built on "make them cats lol" so much as "how do we appeal to as wide an audience as possible" along with some "how can I create characters who are easily distinguishable but still relatively easy to draw"

I always thought that anime facial features were just for ease of drawing: eyes are so tiny yet can express all sorts of subtle feelings from the slightest tweak to their contours, so making them bigger helps reduce the amount of accidents that can happen in rendering. It kind of made sense when I thought of the face like a word cloud: the eyes and the mouth show the most information, so they become huge, while the nose typically adds nothing to the expression, thus it is wiped from existence. Anyway, back on mangadex, in a nice little slow life manga that just introduced a feral wolf girl to join the party along with a dragon:
